🌟 Shoutout to Thrivent member Deb for her incredible work organizing an Action Team! Recently, she and a group of 12-14 volunteers assembled Wellness Kits for Homeless Veterans. Together, they stuffed stockings full of essential items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, gloves, and even included gift cards. 🙌 Such a fantastic example of how Thrivent Action Teams can make a meaningful impact in our communities! Thank you for your dedication, Deb and team! See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.

Thrivent member, Donna Merritts, recently hosted a Thrivent Action Team. She volunteers weekly at Tri-City Meals on Wheels in Greensburg, PA, where a team of five typically prepares 168 to 196 meals for homebound individuals. Recently, they have struggled to provide desserts (usually cookies or snack cakes) due to a lack of donations and budget constraints. In preparation for Thanksgiving, they created individual fluffy pumpkin desserts to include in the meal packs. This is the second year they have provided sweet treats to Meals on Wheels. During Thanksgiving week, they offered desserts for four days. Thrivent funds were used to buy ingredients for the pumpkin dessert, which included donated vanilla wafers. They also had a stock of donated cake mixes, allowing them to purchase eggs, oil, and chocolate chips to make about 1,000 cookies. The volunteers enjoyed the experience and felt fulfilled making these treats for the recipients. See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.

Exciting times at our home office in Minneapolis! In October, our Director of Operations, Gina, had the opportunity to attend an amazing conference. It was a fantastic chance to learn, connect, and bring back valuable insights to our team. She also explored the iconic Mall of America and even visited the aquarium! 🐠🛍️ Check out some photos from her trip!

We recently held a client appreciation event in Warren, PA, where we assembled 100 Thanksgiving bags for those in need. The following day, our team teamed up with volunteers at First Lutheran Church to distribute these bags along with boxes of food for their monthly Produce Express. It was a rewarding experience to give back to our community!

Thrivent member, Sarah Barcus, was approved for a Thrivent Action Team, “Make a Dog’s Day.” During the month of October, staff and residents of Kingston Residence of Marion (Ohio) gathered, made, and purchased items to be donated to the Marion Dog Pound for the care of the animals. Ingredients were purchased and residents of the Memory Care Unit made 2 dozen homemade dog treats. Employees, and family members of residents brought in older blankets that could be used for the dogs at the shelter. Almost every employee donated something to this project. Also, Thrivent assistance allowed for the further purchase of dog treats, toys, and food. The original goal was to fill 3 boxes of items, but when finished Kingston donated 8 boxes of blankets, treats, and toys! Thank you for allowing Thrivent to be a part of this successful project that coupled enrichment of those at Kingston Residence of Marion and aiding in the care and comfort of shelter dogs. Pictured are representatives of Kingston and the Marion Dog Pound on the donation drop off day. See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.
