About Lia Hege
Born and raised in Mattoon, I met my future husband, Erik, during my last year of college at the University of Illinois. Establishing roots in Champaign, after our wedding in 1997, we were then blessed with 5 beautiful daughters: Bri, Becca, Cara, Colleen, and Alexis. My hobbies include exploring the national parks system, watching sports, and assorted DYI crafts: upcycling, stamping, and decorating to name a few.
In August of 1993, I taught my first lesson as an undergrad teaching assistant at UIUC. Since that time, my vocations have been three-fold: wife to Erik, stay-at-home mom for 13 years, and public/parochial high school chemistry teacher for 13 years. In addition, I have always been drawn to the corporal works of mercy through organizations like St. Jude’s and Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and particularly enjoy conversations with my clients that involve ways to help the people and organizations that are dear to them.
