Debbie Jans

Growing up in Wing, ND on a dairy farm in the 80’s left a definite imprint on me. Between my 7th & 8th grades, half of my class moved away mostly because of the banks foreclosing on the area farmers. My parents struggled but were able to survive because of their diversification of grains and dairy, and their faith in God.

After graduating from Bismarck State College and the University of Northern Colorado, my plans were to become an elementary teacher. After my student teaching experience, I realized my passion for teaching and helping others led elsewhere. While working at a local credit union in various roles, I had a chance meeting with the local Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) representative, and that started my teaching journey with Thrivent.

Relocating back to North Dakota as we started our family, gave us an opportunity for our extended family to stay close-knit. We chose the Wilton area as it was equal distance to our families and work. Thrivent allowed me to continue to use my abilities to serve clients by growing an existing practice which I continue to do this day. It's amazing to me that it has already been over 2 decades. Throughout the years I have built an amazing team around my practice that you can read about on this website.

I am most proud of the simple and actionable processes we’ve created to help guide each client in their journey to financial clarity with biblical wisdom.

As I have grown, I look back and find that I crave security & organization in my finances from my experiences growing up on the farm. I naturally bring these skills to the table for our clientele, along with my faith & belief in God. I strive to empower Christians in understanding and utilizing the different tools and processes that help take the chaos out of their financial journey.

My husband, David & I have celebrated over 30 years of marriage. We have a daughter, Jaclyn, a student at NDSU, and a son, Caleb who is a high school student at Wilton. We enjoy traveling, trail riding on horses Max and Annie, along with dogs Teddy and Charlie. I also enjoy singing, gardening and reading.

Trevor Opp

Though I was born and raised in the “big city” of Bismarck, my roots lie in the small town of Harvey, ND. Both of my parents grew up in Harvey and moved to Bismarck in search of greater opportunity. Family means everything to me. I aim to live out the small-town values that I’ve learned from my parents, aunts & uncles, and especially grandparents. I love to visit Harvey, which, in many ways I consider home; nothing beats the warm welcome of the community at Krafty’s Bar-n-Grill, JW’s diner, or the Cenex gas station on the edge of town. I currently live with my fiancee, Paige. We enjoy traveling as often as we can, especially to Las Vegas for a quick and affordable getaway. We enjoy spending summer weekends at my parents’ cabin at Brush Lake and we are always finding new activities to try such as golfing or snowboarding.

I attended college at University of Mary, leaving with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. I have always wanted to be a small business owner. Working with Debbie and becoming a financial advisor has helped me achieve that dream as I operate my practice with Thrivent to help others with maximizing their financial goals.

I chose Thrivent to guide members through their complicated financial journeys with values that are ingrained in Christianity. I truly enjoy working with members of all ages and situations but work especially well with small business owners and professionals as they look for better options to help begin jumpstarting a successful retirement and work optional lifestyle. I enjoy helping create solutions for small business owners and their employees as I grow alongside their business and help them navigate the many nuances that come with business finance.

Pam Holscher

I have been working with Debbie and our Team since 2012. I love the relationships that we have built over the years and find happiness in serving you.

In my position, I am responsible for gathering information to help prepare Debbie and Trevor for meeting with you, along with meeting follow-up such as transmitting paperwork.

Out of the office, I LOVE flowers and gardening; most of our backyard is used for growing flowers and vegetables.

My husband Keith & I like to travel, and love riding trails with our side-by-side, enjoying the scenery.

My passion is serving others. For me, that usually comes with a plate of cookies or a cake and a prayer. Serving others with a Christian perspective is what brought me to help Debbie, Trevor and our Team at Thrivent. I will be the first one to answer your call and the first one you see when you come to our office. My duties are scheduling, and account maintenance. If you ask Debbie, my job would include making pumpkin bread pudding with caramel sauce! Trevor is still in search of the best cookie, although I have offered several kinds to him. If you happen to be scheduled on one of those days, you could be lucky enough to sample my treats, too!

I enjoy serving my family with love & baking! My husband Tom of 31 years as well as my 3 grown children still request their favorite dishes when they are home. My faith is a very important part of my life. I am a graduate of St. Mary’s Central High School and a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.
