Our Story
Our story

After successfully working as independent Thrivent financial advisors for several years, Nick Rasmussen and Roger Schlichting decided to form a practice together in 2019, and that’s when Wellspring Advisor Group was born.

Nick and Roger came together after realizing they had complementary ideals and skillsets, along with unique perspectives gained from belonging to different generations. Our intergenerational team now includes several employees who have expertise in a variety of areas.

At Wellspring Advisor Group, we take a team approach to serving people of all ages and life stages. If you decide to work with us, we look forward to exploring what matters most to you and helping you work toward your goals.

We strive to provide straightforward, easy-to-understand guidance that’s customized to your unique needs. Our goal is to take care of clients like family, and we look forward to being dependable advocates you can rely on for the long haul.

Our office is centrally located to serve the Twin Cities’ eastern suburbs and surrounding areas. We are available to meet in person or virtually—whichever is most convenient for you. Call or email us today to learn more and schedule an initial consultation.

I began working in financial services in 2001 and have enjoyed it from the start. As a financial advisor, I love building long-term relationships and partnering with clients to help them make wise money choices aligned with their goals and values. One of my goals is to help clients gain confidence and contentment in their financial planning strategies and increase their probability of financial freedom, both in certain and uncertain times.

My wife, son, daughter and I live nearby and attend Eagle Brook Church in White Bear Lake. I am a member of the Financial Planning Association. When not at the office, I enjoy coaching my middle-school-aged kids in basketball and baseball. In addition, I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, cooking, entertaining, camping and hunting with my black lab, Braven.

I joined Thrivent in 2025 with a strong foundation in finance and a deep commitment to supporting clients and advisors in their financial journeys. I graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Business, earning a degree in Finance. I hold Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and am certified in Life, Accident, and Health Insurance.

As part of the Wellspring Advisor Group, I strive to bring clarity, efficiency, and care to every interaction. My role allows me to help support our advisors in delivering thoughtful, values-based financial guidance to individuals and families across our communities.

Originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, I’m proud of the influence my two older brothers and my mom have had on my life. Now based in Willernie, MN I look forward to becoming actively involved in local volunteering and community service.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, camping, watching movies, playing soccer, following sports, and spending quality time with friends and family. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors or cheering on my favorite teams, I find joy in staying active and connected.

I’m excited to grow with a team that values integrity, service, and lifelong learning.

I started working for Wellspring Advisor Group in 2021 after more than 20 years in medical device leadership. I help oversee office operations, facilitate client relationships and coordinate information for those who use our dedicated planning services. I enjoy working with team members and clients to enhance their experience and help them get the most out of meetings.

I am married to Financial Advisor Nick Rasmussen, and we have two kids. We attend Eagle Brook Church and are very involved in the community. I spend much of my time creating community with families whose kids are in activities with our kids!

In my spare time, I enjoy cheering on my children at sporting events, entertaining friends and family, camping, hiking, traveling, visiting our cabin and spending time with my parents at their winter home in Arizona.
