The bible describes valor as someone having a strength of mind and spirit that enables a person to encounter the unknown with optimism, confidence, humility and trust in God.

I am a widowed, father of a bunch of kids. We love life and live it to the fullest each day! We spend time sailing, skiing, 4-wheeling, being outdoors, music, traveling, and sitting by the fire. 

Much of my life was dedicated to public service, serving people at the local and federal government level (Public Works, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighting, Seach and Rescue/Recovery, and Administration). I served the communities of Richfield and Northfield, Minnesota. In addition, I am a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Though my law enforcement career began in Illinois, I spent the majority of my 25 years as a police officer in Minnesota. After I retired from active law enforcement, it was a natural transition to move into another honorable career as a financial representative for Thrivent Financial. With a mission of guiding Christians to be wise with money, Thrivent aligns with my core values and gives me the opportunity to continue serving and protecting the members of my community. I am especially honored to help our brothers and sisters in law enforcement. I am committed to guiding them with their financial strategies during their careers and throughout their retired years. My wife and I live in Lakeville, Minnesota, where we raised our two children. We attend Hosanna Lutheran Church and enjoy traveling and family trips to our cabin in the woods. I am passionate about giving back to the community and am actively involved in activities benefiting Special Olympics, Young Life and Compassion International, as well as benevolent law enforcement causes. I'm honored to be the Board of Directors President for Protectors' Peak, a Christian retreat in northern Idaho, where we serve public safety, military and clergy.View profile
