Provider of Financial Guidance Since 2015

I have been providing financial guidance since the beginning of 2015, serving the Mount Dora area and beyond. Before Thrivent, I worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Service for 33 years. During that time, I carried mail in different states and cities, and the one thing I realized while talking with patrons was that almost everybody was scared to retire or didn’t have a plan of any kind. I also did taxes for two years, helping people with their tax filings. While I don’t offer tax-help services anymore, I learned a good deal from my interactions when I was. I found that many had made some assumptions about Social Security supporting them when they enter retirement. Unfortunately, this isn’t true for most people. That is why I do what I do as a financial professional. I am on a mission to give everybody an opportunity to have a financial strategy and to give them the guidance they need.

Tessa joined Thrivent as a member in 2022 and is thankful to have the opportunity to work with True Course Financial as an Office Professional. She has experience in Office Management and Human Resources and valuable experience with Executive Board Leadership. And plans to continue to use her empathy and hard work ethic to provide dedicated service to our clients.

She is originally from the Mid-West, and in her free time she enjoys the beach, spending quality time with family and crafting.

At the beginning of my adult life, I was an airman in the United States Navy. Then, after my 4-year tour of duty, I was in the hospitality industry for 20 years.  Through changing careers, I was determined to help and educate as many people as I could in the ways of the financial world. I was not taught about finances and investing when I was younger and every day, I think to myself, “Where would I be if I had gotten started sooner?”. 

With an enormous amount of faith and a bit of courage, I left my job and joined the Thrivent family in November of 2022. Feeling like I had reached a dead end, I decided I needed a change. I wanted to get into something that would provide value to people, as well as give myself a sense of pride in what I do.

My focus is helping people realize the benefits of taking care of their future selves and teaching them how to clear the path to get there. Throughout our process, we learn about you and your dreams to build a financial strategy around the things that are most important to you. With your help, we work to assess your situation and develop a strategy designed just for you and your family.

In my free time, I enjoy riding my Harley, boating on the lakes, shooting pool, and spending time with family and friends.
