About Russ LaPoint
I began my career with Thrivent in October of 2007.Thrivent resonated with me because of the structure of their business: the focus is on making the lives of their clients better. Working alongside clients to help them reach their financial goals is very rewarding for me. I want to see them and YOU succeed. I can help you cut through the clutter and get a clear picture of your priorities. Using my knowledge and expertise, we can set clear goals, build straightforward plans to reach them, and celebrate together each of your achievements.
What I love most is spending time with my family—my wife, Robyn, and four sons: Trevon, Tyson, Carter, and Chase. Robyn and I were married in 2008. She surprised me with a honeymoon trip to Lambeau Field for the Monday Night Packer versus Viking game! We now enjoy watching the boys participate in sports and activities they are passionate about.
- Trevon is attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is an avid alpine skier and loves to fish.
- Tyson is attending Rice Lake Highschool. He is passionate about baseball and takes every opportunity to play the game he loves.
- Carter and Chase both attend Tainter Elementary in Rice Lake. They also both fell in love with the sport of hockey. They keep Robyn and I very busy with practices and games on weeknights and weekends.
I also enjoy hunting and fishing. My favorite times of the year happen during bow and rifle seasons. I also look forward to an annual walleye fishing trip that I take in August with my Dad, my brother, and my sons.
Education & Experience
In 1996, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls majoring in Business Administration. I went on to work at a John Deer dealership until I found my calling with Thrivent. I have achieved the following professional designations: AEP®, CFP®, ChFC®, CAP®, FIC, WMCP®.
