Our Story
Our story

The seed of Roots Financial Group was planted in 2002 when Financial Advisor Natalie Kratzer (she/her) joined Thrivent. She had her own practice for several years, helping clients of all ages work toward their financial goals and greater life purpose. She also developed a niche in nursing, and now serves certified registered nurse anesthetists and student registered nurse anesthetists throughout the U.S.

When Natalie had the new office space blessed in 2019, she was struck by the meaning of the word “rooted” when it was used in the blessing. She realized then that Roots Financial Group was the perfect name for her growing practice.

Associate Wealth Advisor Beth McKinley (she/her) joined the practice in 2022 with more than five years of experience at Thrivent. Her extensive background in charitable gift planning made her transition to financial services a natural one. With a focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, along with those who want to include giving in their financial plan, Beth’s niche has also taken root.

Our team seeks to build long-term relationships with clients by providing transparent, holistic advice as they navigate life’s twists and turns. If you’re proactive with your finances, want to incorporate your values into your financial strategy and are looking to build the financial confidence you need to take your next brave step, give us a call today.
