About RONALD THOMAS

I help individuals, families, retirees, and professionals gain clarity and confidence around some of life's most important financial decisions. Whether you're preparing for retirement, planning for education expenses, protecting your family, or thinking about the legacy you want to leave, my goal is to help you create a strategy that aligns your resources with your values and the future you envision.

At Thrivent, I take a holistic approach to financial planning that goes beyond investments alone. Together, we'll focus on the areas that matter most to you, including retirement planning, risk management, tax-efficient strategies, and legacy planning. I believe money is not a goal in itself, but a tool that can help create a life of purpose, meaning, and lasting impact.

Before becoming a Financial Advisor, I built a successful career in supply chain and logistics management, where solving complex challenges and developing practical solutions were part of my everyday work. Today, I bring that same analytical and problem-solving mindset to helping clients navigate financial decisions and create plans tailored to their unique goals and circumstances.

My passion for financial advising stems from a desire to help others avoid common financial pitfalls and make informed decisions with confidence. Having experienced financial setbacks and lessons of my own, I understand the value of trusted guidance and the peace of mind that comes from having a clear plan. As a husband, father of adult children, and proud grandfather, I also understand the importance of protecting what matters most and building a legacy that can benefit future generations.

Beyond my work with clients, I am committed to serving others through leadership, mentorship, and community engagement. Through Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., I support efforts that promote leadership development and financial literacy for young men. I also serve in pastoral ministry, helping individuals and families navigate life's opportunities and challenges with wisdom, faith, and purpose.

When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me spending time with family, serving in ministry, or enjoying a ride on my Trek FX1.

#TruthfulTuesday — What Will You Actually Keep? We spend a lot of time talking about growing money. How much did the account earn? What’s the balance? Am I on track for retirement? Those are important questions. But there’s another question that can be just as important: How much of it will you actually get to keep? Not every dollar you’ve accumulated may be a dollar available for you to spend. Taxes can affect what you ultimately have available when you begin taking money from different accounts. And if you’ve spent decades focused only on accumulation without considering how taxes may affect withdrawals, that realization can come at the wrong time. That’s when I sometimes hear: “I didn’t think about that.” Truth: Growing wealth matters. Keeping more of what you've built matters too. Financial planning isn't just about asking, “How much can we grow?” It's also about considering, “How might we access it?” “What could taxes mean for our income?” and “Are there strategies we should be thinking about now rather than later?” The number on the statement tells part of the story. Let's make sure we're thinking about the rest of it. #TruthfulTuesday #IDidntThinkAboutThat #TaxPlanning #RetirementPlanning #FinancialWisdom 📌 See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.

#MoneyMovesMonday Your money needs more than a place to sit. It needs a purpose. We spend a lot of time asking: “How much do I have?” But there may be a better question: “What is this money supposed to do?” Some money may be for emergencies. Some for retirement. Some for the home you want to buy. Some for your children or grandchildren. Some for the experiences you want to enjoy. And some may be part of the legacy you hope to leave. When money doesn't have a purpose, every financial decision can feel disconnected. But when you connect your resources to specific goals, you begin making decisions based on where you want your life to go—not simply where your money happens to be today. This week's money move: Look at your savings and investments and ask: “What job have I given this money?” If you can't answer, that may be the place to start. 📩 Let's talk about turning what you've accumulated into a strategy built around what matters to you. #MoneyMovesMonday #FinancialPlanning #PurposeDrivenPlanning #FinancialGoals #Thrivent 📌 See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.

#FinancialFreedomFriday One of the greatest benefits of financial planning isn't having more money. It's having more choices. The choice to retire because you're ready—not because you simply can't keep working. The choice to help your children without jeopardizing your own future. The choice to handle an unexpected expense without turning immediately to debt. The choice to give to something you believe in. The choice to make a career change because it makes sense for your life. The choice to spend time with the people you love. That's what we sometimes miss when we talk about financial freedom. Freedom isn't about being able to buy everything. It's about creating a financial life where money doesn't make every decision for you. And those choices usually don't appear by accident. They're built through preparation, discipline, protection, and a strategy that considers where you're going—not just where you are today. 📌 The goal isn't simply more money. The goal is more freedom to choose. What choices do you want your future financial position to give you? 📩 DM me. Let's build a strategy around the life you actually want to have. #FinancialFreedomFriday #FinancialFreedom #FinancialPlanning #FaithAndFinance 📌 See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures.
