My passion is to help folks understand their financial picture better and come to a place of peace that is achieved through preparing for the future, answering hard questions, and having someone there for you in the world of finance that just 'gets you'.

Everything you want to know about Rickie

I grew up in the small, lake town of Warsaw, Missouri. My summers were filled with horseback riding with cousins, mission trips, and family vacations. When I was little, my family went to a very small Mennonite church on the edge of town where I made some lifelong friends and memories. I married my high school sweetheart during college and later I graduated from UCM in Warrensburg, MO Suma Cum Laude, B.S. in Biology, emphasis in Cellular Molecular Biology.

Soon after graduation, my husband and I moved to Memphis, TN for his college education and I started work manufacturing cell based products for clinical trial drugs at Charles River Laboratories. I met so many wonderful coworkers and loved the work I did- creating lifesaving medicines for very sick people.

Sadly, I eventually found myself at a crossroads. I wanted to be there 100% for my team at work but also for my new baby and family at home. I really struggled trying to find a way to do both without being torn in two. And that's when God opened a door at Thrivent for me. I still get to do life changing work, only now, I help people directly with their finances and insurance needs.

Best of all, I get to be the Mom my family needs at home, since I run my own business from home.

Drawn to the magnificent Lake Superior and beautiful pine tree wilderness, we relocated to Duluth, MN in 2023 and we are living our best lives, taking advantage of all the outdoor hobbies and scenery. Living here was a dream we held close to our hearts for many years and were finally able to make into reality.

While my husband wouldn't mind us spending all of our time packing in the BWCA, some of our favorite activities around St. Louis County include Northern lights chasing, fishing, biking, and hiking together, as well as enjoying the fine brews and food of the area! We especially enjoy the smoked salmon and gouda from Russ Kendall's Smokehouse in Knife River.
