Day 8 of our Christmas Countdown: We know the panic is real—there are only a few shopping days left, and somehow, kids have a magical way of adding a new toy to their Santa list at the eleventh hour. But let’s take a deep breath and remember: The best gifts aren’t always the ones wrapped in shiny paper. Instead of rushing to find that must-have item, remember the Tickle Me Elmo chaos?? Consider giving the gift of an experience? Here are a few ideas that will last longer than this season’s hottest toy: Plan a Holiday Activity: Think ice skating, building a snowman, or a cozy movie night with hot cocoa. Create a Memory Jar: Write down favorite moments from the year or plans for things to do together in the new year—no batteries required! Gift from the Heart: Purchase memberships online to fun places, we’re thinking: Museums, Amusement Parks, the Zoo, Aquarium…all places your grandkids have been begging to go! What’s the most fun experience you’ve shared with loved ones during the holidays? Drop it in the comments, and let’s swap ideas for gifts that never sell out!

Day 7: The holidays are full of cherished memories. What’s a favorite holiday moment from your past? Share your story with us below—it could inspire someone else’s holiday joy! Becky's favorite Christmas memory: Getting my family's Christmas tree with my sister and now husband when I still lived at home. We were using a truck that had a cap on the bed, and Eric got into the bed to put the tree into the back and got stuck so my sister had to drive the truck home with Eric squished up against the back window like one of those suction-cup Garfields.

Day 2 of our Christmas Countdown: Let’s talk holiday budgeting! With only 11 days left until Christmas, it’s crunch time, but that doesn’t mean your wallet has to feel the squeeze. See thrivent.com/social for important disclosures, then check out these quick tips to keep your finances merry and bright: 1. Set a Spending Limit: Decide how much you can spend overall and break it down into categories like gifts, meals, and decorations. Sticking to it is easier than dodging fruitcake at a holiday party! 2. Get Creative with Gifts: Thoughtful doesn’t have to mean expensive. Homemade treats and handwritten notes can be more meaningful than a store-bought present. 3. Track Your Spending: Use a budgeting app or even a simple notebook to jot down every purchase. It’s like making a list and checking it twice for your finances! What’s your best holiday budgeting tip? Share in the comments how you balance the joy of giving with smart financial planning!
