I spent the first part of my career as a teacher and a basketball coach. At Thrivent, I’m still teaching and coaching—but it’s a different lesson and game. No matter what your financial goals, achieving them requires a game plan. Whether you are just starting out in your career or preparing for retirement, I will advise how to use strategies, solutions, products and investments to help position you for success.

I got into this business to help people. I have been a lifelong learner and former coach and I bring these aspects from my experience to my clients every day. I am a father of three little ones and our family has owned a small business for years. I am ready to help our clients no matter where they are in their life story.

I joined Thrivent in 2011 as an office professional and have grown along with the practice into various positions throughout my career. My current role within the team focuses on preparing, developing, and executing financial plans and strategies to help our clients achieve their goals. I feel extremely fortunate to serve in this capacity while utilizing my strengths and passion for helping others put the pieces of their financial puzzle together.

I started my Thrivent career in 2004 as a financial professional. In 2007, I was invited to join field leadership and spent the next 12 years leading, growing and developing financial professionals across Eastern Iowa. In 2019, I made the decision to return to the financial advisor role and am honored and thrilled to be back in the role where I began. No matter what financial goals you may have, I enjoy taking the time to build relationships that guide you toward achieving your goals.

Twenty-six years in the funeral service industry gave me the opportunity to share my gifts as a reliable resource. Those years allowed me to build warm, personal relationships while helping people navigate through difficult-to-discuss topics and situations. As a financial advisor, I have been able to continue sharing valuable advice with our clients. To book a meeting with Mike click here

I joined Thrivent in 2007, previously spending 16 years in the medical community. As an office nurse, I helped people take care of their physical health. I am still helping people, except now I am focusing on helping people with their financial health. Life happens and there are so many financial journeys you will be on—my goal is to put a plan in place to help guide you seamlessly through them. I currently work out of two offices, one in Hiawatha and one in Coralville. I would love to meet you at either one to work on your financial strategy.

With a decade of experience as a dedicated physical therapist, I transitioned to a financial advisor, bringing the same passion for helping people and building relationships to the financial sector. Through this I have developed a deep understanding of the importance of personalized care and empathetic support. As a financial advisor, I leverage my background in physical therapy to offer a unique perspective on financial health and wellness. I understand that just like physical health, financial well-being requires a tailored approach that considers each individual’s unique needs and goals.

As a former Navy First Class Petty Officer, I’ve led in high-stakes environments where preparation, strategy, and execution meant everything. That same focus drives how I help clients today—applying my experience in military operations and corporate finance to create clear, data-driven strategies for long-term financial security. With an MBA and a Master of Science in Applied Quantitative Finance, I work to simplify complex decisions and provide solutions tailored to your goals. No matter where you are on your financial journey, we’ll work together to build a plan toward a secure financial future. To schedule a meeting with Jay click here

As a husband and father of 5 kids, I understand the value of prioritizing and protecting my family. I was raised on a family dairy farm in a small town in Eastern Iowa. I spent much of my working years doing hard physical labor in the factories and trades, trying to support my family by stretching every dollar and working long hours. My goal as a financial professional, is to help as many people as I can navigate the complex world of insurance and finance to help families achieve the things that are important to them. People work hard for their money and their money should be working hard for them. I proudly live and serve the communities around the Eastern Iowa area. I am licensed in other states, and I offer virtual meetings to accommodate you, wherever you're located.
