As a financial professional licensed to offer advisory services, Jeff takes a comprehensive look at your financial landscape and crafts a plan to help ensure you're well positioned to reach your goals. He specializes in tax-efficient retirement and estate distribution strategies. Jeff has his Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and has been a financial professional at Thrivent since 2007. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 2012 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 2001.

Jeff is married to Angela, and has three children: Josie, Amelia and Landon. He enjoys spending time with family, golfing and boating, and is a member of Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Josh built a passion for personal finance and became an entrepreneur at an early age. He graduated from Wartburg College in 2009, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, while also playing football. Josh has been with Thrivent for over 10 years with areas of focus in retirement planning, holistic financial plans and tax efficiency solutions. Josh believes the key to a successful plan is two-way trust. He serves clients in our Belmond, Ames and Johnston offices. 

Outside of his practice, Josh enjoys spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Leigh, have been happily married for 11 years and reside in Belmond. They are proud parents of daughter, Zoey, and son, Ty. Josh is an avid golfer and volunteer for several local organizations. He has always had a passion for athletics, exercise and enjoying the outdoors.

Clark spent his first 20 years of employment working in both the financial district and technology industry of Dallas, Texas. His former employers include IBM, ADP and Litton Industries. For the last 30 years, Clark has been with Thrivent, specializing in investment management, retirement financial strategies and estate planning.

Clark and his wife, Suzy, have two children, Amanda (deceased) and Carrie. But wait, there is more—they have seven grandchildren: Tamrick, Kyler, Kamrin, Teranee, Tiana, TJ and Kade and three great grandchildren, Tyce, Towns and Tenzen. Yes, Clark and Suzy are big on family!

Favorite adage: “I don’t know, what I don’t know.” What better way to serve our clients than to provide them with the knowledge to solve the problems which they express.

John provides comprehensive financial data gathering and review, retirement income distribution strategies, investment planning using appropriate asset allocation, and collaboration with your CPA and attorney, to bring clarity to your overall financial picture. He joined Thrivent in 2017, previously working as a developer and vice president in the technology industry. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in management information systems and business management from Luther College in 2000.

John married his high school sweetheart, Jen, in 2001. They have two children: James and Elle’, and a dog named Jingles. They are members of Lutheran Church Hope. In his free time, John enjoys water sports, downhill skiing, playing basketball, and chasing the kids to their next sporting event.

Katie is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate their financial options in today’s ever‑changing world. She earned her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Creighton University. Her education and experience in a service‑driven profession have shaped her client‑first approach and deep commitment to helping others achieve clarity and confidence in their financial lives. Katie specializes in comprehensive financial planning, with a strong focus on tax‑efficient strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation.

Outside of the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and their three children, Brooke, Nick, and Jake. In her free time, she loves walking with the family dog, Ellie, golfing, traveling, and making the most of lake time with family and friends.

Matthew helps his clients define their financial goals and creates a roadmap to help achieve those goals while protecting against life’s unexpected events along the way. He has been with Thrivent since 2010, previously working in banking and as a bank examiner for the state of Iowa. Matthew received his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and banking from Buena Vista University.

He has been married to his wife, Kim, for 12 years and they have two children: Bennett and Tessa. Matthew enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending his kids’ games and activities, and golfing. He is a volunteer coach for Ballard Little League.

Jared specializes in holistic financial planning, helping clients bring all aspects of their financial lives together. His work focuses on tax-efficient strategies, retirement income planning and estate planning—designed to provide clarity, confidence and alignment with their goals. 

Jared graduated from Iowa State University in 2010 with a degree in finance and began his career with Thrivent shortly after. Since then, he has been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate important financial decisions with thoughtful guidance and a long-term perspective. 

Outside of work, Jared enjoys golfing and spending time with his family, especially attending his children’s sporting events. He and his wife, Kathryn, have twin daughters and a son. 

Jared is also active in his community, volunteering with local organizations and a member of Lutheran Church of Hope. 

As director of operations for Pathways Wealth Advisors, Kaley’s role centers on collaborating with the lead financial advisors to shape our strategic vision, then translating those ideas into practical priorities the team can follow. He focuses on executing our plans to help ensure we deliver outstanding service to our clients, advisors and staff.

With 23 years of experience in the financial services sector—including financial planning, banking and insurance—Kaley brings a deep understanding of operations, compliance, regulatory affairs, supervision and executive leadership. Over the years, he’s served in multiple industry organizations in banking, wealth and insurance, and mentored Insurtech startups with the Global Insurance Accelerator.

His commitment to giving back includes volunteering for organizations such as Variety Club, Junior Achievement, Meals from the Heartland, and the American Cancer Society, among many others. He also held local, state and national positions with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, focusing on youth programs, scholarships, drug awareness and veterans' services. Alongside his career in financial services, Kaley spent two decades in emergency services as a volunteer, on-call and part-time firefighter and EMT across five agencies in Iowa.

He holds two college degrees, including one in business management from IHCC in Ottumwa, Iowa. His credentials include passing the Series 4, 7, 24, 53 and 66 exams, as well as the Iowa life, health and disability insurance exams. Kaley currently holds the Series 7, 24, 52, 53, 63, 65 and 99 securities licenses.

Originally from Fairfield, Iowa, he has lived in Johnston for the past nine years with his wife, Joni. They have two children: a daughter, Emma, and a son, Maxwell. When they’re not busy with the kids’ soccer, baseball, band and swimming, they love golfing together as a family. Kaley’s passion for the outdoors includes hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles, and he continue to help manage the family farm alongside his siblings.

Kristin joined Thrivent in 2015 and focuses on day-to-day client support and operations. She enjoys partnering with clients at each step of their financial journey. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa in 2003.

Kristin is married to Nick, and they have two children, Madilyn and Logan. Kristin and her family attend Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, IA and she is involved with volunteer activities that support John Stoddard Cancer Center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending her kids’ activities, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, reading and enjoying the outdoors.

Tara joined Thrivent in 2019 and has worked in the financial industry since 2005. She works remotely and specializes in investments and paraplanning. Tara studied accounting and business management at North Iowa Area Community College. 

Tara is married to Cam, and they have one son together, Myles. Tara has a passion for serving youth, combating food insecurity, and animals. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, walking her dog, Stella, traveling, spending time with family and reading.

Austin joins the team with four years of experience as a solo practice financial advisor with Thrivent in Northwest Illinois. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree from Luther College, Austin began serving clients across all age groups and demographics. Using a holistic approach, he helps clients build goal-oriented strategies enabling them to create more stable financial futures. 

Austin grew up in Northwest Illinois and is a proud dog dad to an eight-year-old hound dog. In his free time, he likes to play soccer, golf and pickleball, go on long walks or hikes with his dog, visit family in Colorado and spend time with friends. He is interested in volunteer opportunities at local animal shelters and coaching recreational soccer. 

Jorden provides paraplanning support and investment research to help the team deliver thoughtful, personalized guidance to clients. Working primarily remotely, he plays an important role in supporting the team’s planning process and helping advisors prepare recommendations aligned with each client’s goals.

Jorden first joined Pathway Wealth Advisors as an intern in the summer of 2024, where he discovered a passion for the work and the opportunity to support clients through meaningful financial planning. After graduating from Wartburg College in 2025 with a degree in business and a concentration in finance, he joined the team full time.

Outside of work, Jorden enjoys golfing, running and spending time with friends and family. He is looking forward to marrying his fiancée, Kenedie, in June 2026.

Alicia’s responsibilities include greeting clients, answering phones and providing service to clients in our Belmond office. She has an associate’s degree in business administration from Hamilton College.

Alicia has been married to her husband, David, for 18 years and they have two children, Nate and Lily. Her interests include spending time with family, camping, nature walks and reading.

Julie has been with Thrivent since 2018 as an office professional in our Bettendorf, Iowa office. Though this was a new opportunity at the time, she had a long-standing relationship with Thrivent, dating back to the days of Lutheran Brotherhood. Julie supports all aspects of client service in the Bettendorf office and enjoys interacting with and helping clients.

Paulette is happy to have found her work home at Thrivent. She enjoys greeting clients both in person and over the phone, and she supports the team through daily office operations that help keep everything running smoothly. Paulette holds a bachelor’s degree from Graceland University.

As new empty‑nesters, Paulette and her husband, Ron, enjoy live music, traveling, working out, playing cards and board games, and spending time with family and friends. They are active members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Haley’s responsibilities include greeting clients, answering phones and providing day-to-day client service in the Ames office. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where every client feels comfortable and valued. Haley holds an associate's degree from Des Moines Area Community College.

Haley and her husband, Anton, have two children, Evie and Beckham. In her free time, she enjoys long walks, gardening, spending time at the lake and attending her children’s sporting events. She also volunteers her time by coaching youth soccer and basketball.
