Derek Dierks
Derek DierksFinancial ConsultantFIC

Derek Dierks is a Financial Consultant with Northwest Ohio Area Associates at Thrivent. Since 2004, he has focused on tax efficiency, wealth transfer, retirement planning, and investments, helping people clarify what matters most and turn it into practical, easy to follow strategies.

His path began in high school while shadowing his parents’ financial planner; raised Lutheran, he was drawn to Thrivent’s mission and has a family connection through his mother’s service with the organization’s parent groups.

Derek listens first and stays alongside clients as life evolves—adjusting plans, so they continue to fit. He also breaks down day-to-day financial decisions, so the next step feels clear, manageable, and sustainable.

Away from work, he’s often golfing, at the lake, or outdoors with his long‑haired dachshund, Frank, and spending time with his mom and three nephews. He serves clients across Northwest Ohio and values straightforward, collaborative relationships.

Amanda Cutway
Amanda CutwayFinancial Advisor

Amanda Cutway is a Financial Advisor with Thrivent who likes helping people feel more confident and less stressed about their finances. She works with individuals and families to make financial decisions that fit their life and reflect what matters most to them.

Before joining Thrivent, Amanda spent 15 years as a high school math teacher and also developed a love for real estate investing and home renovation projects. That background shows up in the way she works with clients—breaking down financial topics in a way that feels simple, practical, and easier to understand.

Amanda was drawn to Thrivent because of its purpose-driven, membership-owned approach. She likes that financial guidance can be built around each person’s values, goals, and bigger picture—not just the numbers.

Her favorite part of this work is getting to know people, building long-term relationships, and helping clients feel more comfortable and confident as life changes and new goals take shape.

Amanda grew up in Maumee, Ohio, and now lives in Defiance. She’s a proud mom to a son in Tucson, Arizona, and a daughter in Monroe, Michigan.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her kids, tackling DIY home projects, working on real estate investments, traveling in the camper, golfing, and catching up with family and friends.
