Our Story

OUR STORY

Northern Skies Group is a husband-and-wife team of Kyle and Jill Duclos. This is a second career for us following 18-year teaching careers for both of us. Kyle teaching high school biology and Jill teaching kindergarten through second grade. Kyle also coached throughout his entire education career.

Kyle was the first to venture into a second career as a financial advisor in 2012 and after of couple of successful years in the business, realized that he couldn’t do it alone. Jill joined the practice in 2014. Over the years our business went through many changes which has led it to where it is now.

We operate a small and efficient practice built around client communication and impartial advice. We are in a position to grow our practice with like minded clients who are looking for a close trusted relationship with us.

We have three adult children: Chelsea (Son in law Jordan), Jesse (fiance’ Gia) and Tyler. We also have our first Grandchild, Addison (Chelsea and Jordan).She is an active three-year-old and we are blessed to spend a lot of time with her.

We live on Leech Lake. We enjoy all things outdoors including boating, snowmobiling the trails to bars and restaurants, hunting, fishing, walking, and hosting family and friends at our house. We love to give our guests a tour of all that the Walker area has to offer. We also have a 4 year old yellow lab named Tessa. She loves the boat and dock jumping!

I joined Thrivent in 2012 following an 18-year teaching career. I was looking for a second career that was built around helping people and coaching.My experience as an educator and coach has translated to this career very well. My ‘superpower’ is my ability to make the complexity of financial planning simple and relatable to all our clients. After all, a financial plan can’t provide security and confidence if you don’t understand it.

We work with a proven process to tie all aspects of your situation together, so they are all pulling the same rope. This process takes an impartial and comprehensive look at your entire situation. The end result of working with us is owning a plan that accomplishes all you want in retirement and ensures that your legacy is fulfilled the way you want.

Jill DuclosOffice Manager

I joined Thrivent to work with my husband Kyle in 2014 following a rewarding 18-year teaching career. The thing I most loved about teaching was the relationships that I built with my students and their families. It didn’t take me long in this new career to realize I would be able to continue to form new long-lasting relationships with our clients.

My roll with the team is primarily client communication including scheduling, ensuring all proper documentation exists, and support to Kyle. We love working together and find that we have all of our internal processes established to provide our clients outstanding support when they need it.
