Back in the classroom this week—although Scottsdale isn't a bad place to do it.
I'm spending the next few days at The Summit 2026 with Retirement Tax Services and The Perfect RIA, digging deeper into an area of financial planning I'm passionate about: the intersection of retirement income and tax planning.
The decisions we make around retirement aren't made in isolation. Roth conversions, Social Security, Medicare, charitable giving and how we create retirement income can all interact—and decisions made today can affect someone's tax picture for years to come.
That's why continuing to learn matters.
My goal this week is pretty simple: come home with a few new ideas that can make the planning we do for our clients even better.

We've already shared where we'll be hosting our October 9 event, but we'd also like to spotlight Rustic Roots Winery.
What started as a local winery has grown into a St. Croix Valley destination known for its award-winning, estate-grown wines and welcoming atmosphere. From yoga classes and live events to weddings and celebrations, Rustic Roots has become a place where people gather, connect, and make memories.
We're grateful to partner with a local business that continues to invest in the guest experience through its ongoing expansion. Construction will still be underway during our event, but signage will be available to help guide guests. We look forward to gathering at Rustic Roots in support of Lakes Center for Youth & Families.

A century of life brings perspective that can't be found in a textbook. Through wars, economic booms and recessions, changing technology, and countless life experiences, one thing has remained true: the importance of planning, perseverance, and the people you share life with.
Moments like this remind me that financial planning is about so much more than numbers. It's about helping people pursue the lives they want to live, care for the people they love, and leave a legacy that lasts.
