In responding to my post from Monday, I was thinking about why I have life insurance and why it is important to me? The simple answer is for just in case something happens. When my father passed away, he did not have any life insurance. I was 19 and stuck with a $16,000 bill. Luckily, my church was there to help me. I don't want Tara to have to go through that. The complex answer is that as I age, it can be used to leave a legacy to those people and places I care about. Life insurance can be an amazing tool.

Tomorrow, March 8th, is celebrated as International Women's Day. According to www.internationalwomensday.com, "International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, honors the achievements of women across all aspects of life - social, economic, cultural, and political - while also advocating for gender equality." In honor of this, I want to celebrate two of the many women who have made an impact in my life. First, is my mom, Marcia. She has been an integral part of my life. She always pushed me to try new things, whether I wanted to or not, most times not; and these are some of the pieces of my life I am most proud of. She worked extremely hard to give me the best life she could. Her perseverance and strength have shown me what it means to work hard and help people in any way possible. Second, is my grandma, Margaret. She passed just about a year ago. She was the matriarch of our family and did everything she could to show all of us that she loved us. When I was younger, we did not always get along, but as I matured, I came to understand what she meant to me and to my family. I love you both. Happy International Women's Day. Jesus loves you!

"For we live by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7 I was recently talking with a coworker about working at Thrivent. We came into the career at the same time, and we were going over some of the items at the start of the process. I realized that I had my leadership asked me some of the questions that his asked him. I would not be at Thrivent. I would not have been able to move to Medina with Tara. My life would look very different. Having faith in God, knowing that He knows what He is doing, is one of the hardest parts of faith. No matter what our faith in Him brings us where we are supposed to be at the time. Have faith and don't forget Jesus loves you!
