About Jake Owens
Prior to coming to Thrivent, Jake was an Account Executive at IBM working in the analytics business unit. During his six years at IBM he worked with clients in the financial services and retail markets to apply cutting edge data architecture to further advance their data driven decision making.
Jake had been managing his own finances for years until he was convinced that it would be more prudent to enlist the assistance of a fiduciary advisor. Jake chose to become a client of Thrivent "because there wasn't a finance related topic or strategy that could not be addressed, and because I knew I wanted to take a more philanthropic approach to my money.".
Fast forward 3 years and meeting after meeting with Thrivent continued to burn a new passion inside Jake. While he loved his time at IBM and remains a loyal fan of Big Blue, the decision was "not hard". He knew he wanted to help others become good stewards of their money and do for them what Thrivent did for him.
Currently, Jake lives in the greater Chicago land area with his wife Sara and daughters Joey and Kit. In his free time, he enjoys reading, golf, fishing, racquetball, playing cards, wine tasting and most of all spending time at the lake with his family!
