The Thrivent legacy on how to plan carefully and lead generous lives goes back a long way in the Rueber family. Starting as a child with enjoying the church picnics sponsored by Thrivent’s predecessor, AAL, to seeing over time and in so many ways how the organization and it’s Members care about others lead Joel to a career that couples his financial acumen with his passion for serving others. “Using Thrivent’s Life planning process has positioned my wife and I to be generous with our time, talents and whatever dollars the Lord provided for us along the way, protected us against events we couldn’t prevent or self protect against, all leading us to have a lot less worries and a lot more opportunities than most people our age. I love the opportunity to provide that same planning for our clients and who have confidence in us to be there guides along their life’s path.” Joel has a B.A, an M.A., and a M.B.A. all from the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). His first career was as a healthcare executive in a number of Health Finance positions but during which he served as a Thrivent volunteer and Chapter Leader/Treasurer. He joined Thrivent full time as an Associate in 2013, became a Practice Developer in 2018, and co-founded Impact Advisors in 2019. He and his wife Betsy have two adult daughters, three lively grandkids, and are avid gardeners.
