BACKPACKIN' AT BAPS | July 6, 2024
On Saturday, July 6th, we completed our third annual "backpacking event" at BAPS Motor Speedway in York, PA, also known as Backpackin' at BAPS. This is one of our team’s Thrivent Community events for 2024 where we purchase backpacks and school supplies for the 300 kids that attend Newberry Elementary. We create an assembly line during intermission and allow drivers, fans and other community members to come help pack the bags with the supplies! We sort the bags afterwards to assure each bag contains the correct supplies and then distribute them to the kids at Back-to-School night!
This year's event took place on a 90+ degree night and we still had many community members come down from the crowd to help us fill the bags - we are so incredibly grateful!
Our phone system is getting an upgrade and that means our phone lines will be down on THURSDAY AUGUST 1 until about noon time.
