This is Us

Yes, we have decades of experience helping people reach their financial goals, but we’re more alike than you can imagine. We’ve each had career changes, we’ve had family struggles, issues with health, and challenges with aging parents. We know that while it’s important to set financial goals, those goals change and evolve, just as life does. The most important part of planning is not the destination, but the highways and byways of the journey.

Every Person Needs a Plan

In our practice, we believe that everyone needs a financial map, but we also know that life changes, and circumstances and goals need readjusting. We want to accompany you and your family on your journey, helping you find the path to financial freedom no matter where life leads you.

The Process that Works

Understanding:

To help you develop a plan, we ask questions and listen to understand where you are right now. We consider what you've accomplished toward your goals and then assess any risks that might derail your plan.

Planning:

Once we understand your needs, wants, and wishes, we can help you develop a plan to realize your goals, whether that’s planning for your children's or grandchildren’s education, creating a blueprint for retirement, or leaving a legacy that will benefit others.

Implementing:

The difficult thing about any plan is the leg work required to put it in place. You are not alone. Instead of telling you what to do, we work side by side with you to implement the right solutions.

Collaborating:

Life changes, goals evolve, and plans must be adjusted. Staying connected and working through those changes requires collaboration. Our process is not, “one and done,” it’s an ongoing relationship with us working together to face changes and realign goals.

When I was a young child, my grandmother was my best friend, not because of the things she could do for me, but because of her kind and generous heart. I learned to cook in her kitchen, a skill I still love, and how to treat others from her example. She’s probably the reason my favorite kind of clients are ones who are thankful for their good fortune and know that everything we have is a gift from God. Watching my clients see how they can make a difference in the lives of others, both now and in the future, is one of the most fulfilling parts of my long career in helping people make the most of what they have.

My father died when I was 23, leaving my mom, who was too young to access his social security benefits, no life insurance, or really, any income. As a stay-at-home wife and mom, she had few marketable skills and went to work in the school lunchroom, doing what she knew, cooking for a crowd. This experience is probably the reason I was drawn to a career in finance in my early twenties and why helping widows and widowers is a calling for me. As a wife, mother and now, a grandmother whose grands call “Sweetie,” I also like working with people, like me, who are getting closer to retirement, or who have recently entered retirement. It’s a big change for anyone and it helps to have someone with financial knowledge walk your path with you.
