My husband and I have been married for 13 years. We have four children who keep us running to all of their activities. As a family we enjoy playing baseball or hanging out in the backyard. Husker game days are always big at our house too! We love to spend time together. My husband and I volunteer at our church St. Anthony frequently. We are always willing to lend a hand or help organize an event.

I grew up on a beef cattle and pecan family farming operation in Brunswick, Missouri. My involvement in 4-H and FFA sparked my interest to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to attain a bachelors degree in Agribusiness Management. Post-graduation I accepted a job as a Production Agronomist in York, Nebraska working with producers and their seed corn fields. I eventually moved further north and took a credit analyzing job here in Columbus, NE where I reviewed tax returns and other financial statements to create presentations for loan officers for agriculture and commercial loans.

I am passionate about helping clients find solutions that work for them, while making a meaningful impact in the communities I serve and beyond. At Thrivent it is our goal to help customers by providing a holistic approach to financial services, which allows us to match them with products that best align with their values, goals, and objectives. We believe that money is a tool, not a goal which motivates us to make the most of all our clients have been given. I am eager to serve as a financial guide for you and help you become financially efficient and live a life full of meaning and gratitude.

I grew up on a farm near Eureka, South Dakota. In case you’ve never heard of it, that’s just 10 miles from the North Dakota boarder which means I’ve been in many blizzards and have actually felt 80 below wind chills. After high school, I attended the University of South Dakota and majored in Criminal Justice with a minor in Religion. Summer school and heavy credit loads set me up for graduation in just 3 years. How does this lead to becoming a financial advisor? Well hold on the for the ride! Next, I went to law school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While in law school I worked as the Executive Director of a non-profit and always had a heart for helping people. Soon after graduation, I moved to Columbus, NE as the City Prosecutor and 9 months later, opened my own law office! Fast forward 19 years……. I decided life was too short for so much stress in my career so at the ripe middle age of 44, I gave up my law practice to become a financial advisor. I became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Certified in Long Term Care, and a Certified Financial Planner. Now I get to help people who are planning for their future, for their family’s future, for their church and charities, and for their legacy. Helping people in this career is so rewarding and fulfilling!

I am married to Mike Slizoski and we have 5 kids and 6 grandchildren! We love to travel and explore new foods, cultures and regions of our world. Then, I get to scrapbook the pictures! That’s my favorite hobby (where a couple of times a year you will find me at an event from Friday to Sunday with my friends!) along with reading and acting. I have done lots of small parts for murder mystery fundraisers for the Arts Council and the Immanuel Extravaganza seed parties. I had not acted on stage in 26 years until recently getting the opportunity to perform along side my daughter in a play with the Platte Valley Playhouse. We even played the parts of a mother-daughter! Presenting at workshops to educate our clients and the public is one of my passions. People need to be empowered with information about their finances.

I grew up in Duncan NE with my 3 siblings. I went to Columbus High School and was fortunate to know what I wanted to do in life already. Finance had already caught my interests. I attended Central Community College for my generals so I could continue to work in banking and save money by living at home. After getting my Associates Degree, I went to the University of Nebraska-Kearney where I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Finance. I started in banking in 2003 and became a licensed advisor in 2008.

My husband, Matt, and I lived in Omaha for 5 years. Once we started having kids, we knew God was calling us back to this area. We have been blessed with 4 children. Three boys and then a little girl. According to their teachers, the 2 older boys were praying hard for a little sister and God did provide.

We built a house which is just over a mile down the road from the home I grew up in. Our 3 boys love living in the country and playing outside. We are active members of St. Stanislaus church where I am the director of religious education and a member of St. Anns. Having 4 young kids does not give us much time for hobbies especially since Matt and I tend to volunteer for many things. I am on the board of Youth Leadership Columbus, and help with the United Way drives while Matt helps coach all of the boys sports and is the tech guy for our church.

When we do make time for hobbies we enjoy planting flowers and having a garden. Mostly the garden is there so I can make salsa. We also enjoy camping, fishing and 4-wheeling and going out to the lake. During the fall we, of course, like to watch Husker football. I also say that I am a Packers fan by marriage. I am very blessed that God has given me a beautiful family and allowed me to work for Thrivent in the career I love.
