Let's make a plan together that will help you live your best financial life

I work with a wide variety of clients and particularly enjoy working with non-profit professionals, the LGBTQ community, retirees and pre-retirees, and people in the midst of personal and/or professional transitions.

My goal is to help you live your best financial life. I do that by really getting to know you and then working with you to get clarity on what your goals are, align those goals with your values, see your opportunities, and make great financial decisions.

What makes this career fun is constantly learning new things. Before being immersed in all things personal finance, I acquired a B.A. in religious studies from DePaul University, an M.S. in journalism from Northwestern University, and an M.A. in theology from Catholic Theological Union, which has made me well versed in things like Catholic devotional practices in 19th-century France, should you be curious.

In our spare time, my wife and I do a lot of bicycling and enjoy going to the theatre and concerts. We also enjoy cooking together, as well as watching cooking shows with our cat, and visiting breweries (want to know where to find the best hefeweizen in Chicago? I got you). Our own financial plan includes a hearty travel budget that we gleefully spend from regularly.

I specialize in:

·       Retirement savings planning (what to do before you retire)

·       Retirement income planning (what to do after you retire)

·       Investment management

·       College planning

·       Navigating life transitions

·       Protecting you and your family from the impact of death, disability, and extended care

·       Charitable giving

·       Legacy planning

I can help you answer questions like:

·       Am I saving enough for retirement?

·       When can I retire?

·       How can I minimize my taxes, now and in the future?

·       Am I saving in the right ways … 401k, Roth IRA, annuity, or … ?

·       What’s the best way to save for my kids’ college expenses?

·       How much life insurance do I need?

·       What happens if I can’t work because I get sick or injured?

·       What if I need help as I get older and can no longer live independently?
