Our Story
Our story

The seed of Dakota Platinum Group was planted in 2012 when Allison Bolger started her career with Thrivent. Over the years, she has developed lasting relationships with many clients by helping them achieve financial clarity, plan for the future and make the most of all they’ve been given.

Allison expanded her practice several years ago to include additional financial advisors, so they could collaborate to help more people work toward their financial goals and dreams. Her team-based approach to serving clients blossomed, and her practice officially became Dakota Platinum Group in 2018. Today, Dakota Platinum Group has six team members who work closely together to help clients thrive.

We believe it’s beneficial to have more than one person you can go to when financial needs arise, and that’s why we all take interest in your financial situation, goals and values. It allows us to harness our individual areas of expertise to collaboratively develop financial strategies designed to help get you where you want to go.

I started working for Thrivent in 2012, following in my dad’s footsteps. I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with clients and helping them work toward their financial goals.

Before my career in financial services, I was a teacher and coach for 11 years. I have a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Minnesota and played soccer there during college. My master’s degree is from the University of Sioux Falls.

My husband, Rob, and I have two children: Sullivan and Collyns. We love watching and playing sports. I also enjoy being outdoors, running, working out and cooking.

I became FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licensed in 2015 and joined Thrivent in 2022.

I graduated from Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. I got married in 2016 and have two sons, ages two and four. When not at work, I love spending time with my family outdoors, grilling and caring for my lawn. I also enjoy supporting many local groups, including Feeding South Dakota and the St. Francis House.

I started my financial advisor career in 2010 when I moved from UPS to an investment firm. In 2018, I joined Dakota Platinum Group to work with financial professionals who are dedicated to helping people thrive in their financial lives.

I grew up in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and spent most summers up north at our family’s lake cabin with many relatives. After high school, I was fortunate enough to continue my athletic career at the University of South Dakota. I had a great experience playing college football and getting my degree.

While at college, I met my wife, Alicia, who is from Chamberlain, South Dakota. We married in 2008 and made Sioux Falls our home. We have two wonderful boys: Mac and Miles. We love visiting my family’s lake cabin, traveling to Arizona and Hawaii to visit family, playing cards and watching our boys in their activities. In addition, I like golfing, musky fishing, hunting, and attending live sports events and concerts.

In my spare time, I also enjoy teaching young people about personal finance and investing. I’m very involved in Junior Achievement, which helps students learn about financial topics. I’ve taught kids of all ages during the past 10 years and hope they have learned something that will better their financial lives.
