We are proud to serve many veterans and active duty service members from all branches of the military. Today, however, we cheer for just one! Be sure you’re on the winning team 😉
Go Navy. Beat Army!
I was about to post a funny caption with this photo to my social media, but I hesitated big time.
Call it head trash, call it hustle culture, or call it what you want, but the fact of the matter is I had serious reservations about posting a picture of me in the carpool line (aka mid afternoon) just after a brief run.
What will my clients think of me if they know I might be running during business hours or taking time to pick up my kids from school? I’m not saying men don’t have these same thoughts, I just think that women who are trying to run a business, raise a family, and maintain a little health and sanity may have them a bit more. So how about this. . .
I’m going to trust that my clients know that I work hard for them, and more importantly, I’ve got an amazing team alongside me that helps serve them well even when I’m not there. So, running with the dog in brutally cold weather is perfectly fine, and taking off to grab the kids in carpool once and awhile is also perfectly fine.
I’m going to trust that future clients feel the same, and if they don’t, maybe we aren’t a good fit.
So, I’ll go back to my original post:
That north wind is brutal already, so we cut our run short. Mattis insisted on coming along to carpool. I think he makes a pretty good chaperone!
May you be surrounded by family and friends on this wonderful Thanksgiving. We are supremely grateful for wonderful food, great company, and all those first responders and active military on watch today.
If you’re not considering the tax impact on your financial goals, you may not be getting the full retirement/vacation/college cookie!
We talk tax efficiency at EVERY SINGLE meeting because it matters that much.

It may have taken six months for me to get it framed, but I’ve got some great new artwork for my desk.
I often get asked about my fascination/interest in Mickey Mouse. I can honestly say that it’s because Mickey has ups and downs, but at the end of the day he’s genuinely happy with himself and the people he surrounds himself with.
Not a bad mantra for life.

Beautiful day for Germanfest! A little trivia for our followers. Two points for the first one to know what trade the Neihoff name would be in German! No AI help allowed.
Extra credit for the first one to know what Speckmann means in German!

If you’re coming to Syracuse for Germanfest this weekend, please take a look. As a family who has dealt with many sensory meltdowns, we are happy to provide a space for your kiddo to take a break from it all.

Third quarter has come to an end. Here are some key reminders:
- Investment statements will be rolling in over the next several days. Make sure you double check what's going in and what's going out. When in doubt, your advisor should be more than happy to explain how to read your statement. Don't be shy, it's your money.
- If you've got variable income that requires tax planning, schedule those end of year tax planning meetings with your accountant and advisor now. We want to serve you, but schedules fill quickly!
- Change out your toothbrush head and air filter. Let's not be nasty :)

Happy National Son’s Day to these two!
Fake smiles and plenty of stink in this picture, as we had just finished our Couch to 5k training run.
Parenting is the hardest job we’ve ever had, but it also grows us in ways we never knew possible. We are in the phase of early teendom/tweendom, plenty of ‘bruhs,’ and mood swings all around.
But
As I told the boys the other night, “you guys are good kids, and we are just trying to help you grow into responsible human beings.” And they are well on their way!
Almost ready for tomorrow night. Two hours for myself and my fellow Guild members to get all the silent auction items organized.
Proud to be a sponsor of Autism Action Partnership. The annual gala is one of my favorite events, and I thoroughly enjoy spending the evening with family, friends, and my Thrivent team!
Fake fall is here, which means we enjoyed coffee on the front porch in sweatshirts! Mattis got to have his bed brought outside because I’m a softie. Football is on tap for later today. We’re cheering for Navy & Nebraska! Top 10 Saturday!
