Steve joined Thrivent in the fall of 1997 after a career as a wedding photographer. While he enjoyed being a part of a couple's special day, the weekends were spent away from his young family, and a new career in financial planning was truly a blessing from God.

He has enjoyed the many life transitions he has assisted in planning for, while building meaningful relationships with clients and clients whom he now calls 'friend'. Steve is truly a full-service Financial Advisor, with vast experience with life insurance, estate planning, and tax strategies in retirement. Steve looks forward to continued work with Thrivent and serving his community for years to come.

For the Flowers family, the past few years have brought about many changes and the trends continues today! Perry, her husband, Jeff, and their son, Haden, made 'the big move' from Hideaway Lake to Tyler in early 2020. Shortly thereafter, Perry exchanged a career as a Physical Therapist for a career with Thrivent as a Financial Advisor, and ultimately partnered with Steve to form Compass Financial Group in Tyler.

Her interests as a Financial Advisor are strongest in college planning strategies and meeting, engaging and financially educating women. When she's not at the office, you can find her and her family at the tennis courts, playing golf, or playing soccer with friends.

Charles, better known as 'Chuck', recently retired from full time employment with Thrivent as a Financial Advisor and has joined the Compass Financial Group team. He and his wife Anna live in Rockwall, Texas where they serve their church and their community through their church membership.

Chuck specializes in pre and post-retirement strategies, wealth transfer, and life insurance. We are thrilled to welcome our long-time friend and colleague to our team!

Following a lengthy career in sales/marketing, Julia joined Steve in his practice in 2018 after several years as a Community Engagement Leader for Thrivent in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Julia's work focuses on the client experience, including client engagement and member benefit information-sharing, specifically Thrivent Action Teams® and Choice Dollars® programs.

Julia and her husband, Jon, have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. She enjoys volunteering in her community, decorating for holidays, and his busy checking items off her 'bucket list' - especially travel.

Joining our team as Office Professional in early 2022, Sara Steinbrueck serves as another set of dependable and reliable hands in the office. Sara assists our team with meeting scheduling, preparation, and overall organization with the ultimate goal of creating an excellent customer experience. Most recently, she assisted in a big way with our office move after 20+ years in the old location.

Sara and her husband Paul have two daughters. In her spare time, Sara enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and traveling with her family, as well as ‘spirited’ family game nights!
