About Braden Nelson

I grew up in Rolette, ND with my parents and two brothers. Growing up I enjoyed playing sports, hunting and fishing. I took off to college for a couple of years and studied to be an electrical lineman. The majority of my professional career was spent at Minnkota Power in Grand Forks, ND working as a lineman and project manager. I enjoyed my time at Minnkota Power. Working in this field instilled a strong work ethic in me and I’m grateful for the people who I now call great friends.

While living in Grand Forks, ND, I met my wife of eight years, Brianne. We both grew up in rural North Dakota about 20 miles from each other. I must say, we have created a pretty great life together. We have three children. Our two sons, Camden and Jaeger. Our youngest being our daughter Evie. Brianne works at Thrivent as an Executive Assistant and sells Real Estate part time. Brianne and I have always wanted to move back home to where we grew up. It’s a great place to raise children, room to grow and live close to family and friends. We loved the idea of moving home, but never thought we would have the opportunity to do so. We both had stable careers that we couldn’t justify leaving without having a plan. After living in Grand Forks together for seven years, Brianne and I had the idea for me to become a Financial Professional for Thrivent.

The idea of having my own business was very exciting for me. This also gave us an opportunity to move home to our natural market. While jumping into a new career is exciting and exhilarating, the study process was grueling. Long days and nights of studying and stressing. I must say it has been worth it though. Building relationships with my clients has been my greatest achievement thus far. I spend my days relating to my clients, understanding their goals, helping build plans to achieve those goals and monitoring their accounts to hep them feel free from financial anxiety. My recommendation to you would be to have a plan! I cannot stress this enough. You never know when life might throw an unexpected curveball and rock your world. It’s never too early or too late to start planning for your future. I would be happy to sit down with you and help make that happen.
