Q2 Non-Profit Spotlight: MisPits & Friends Rescue
The Mission of MisPits & Friends is to provide a temporary safe haven for all dogs: All breeds, big and small, puppies and adults, fluffy and bald, differently-abled -- we help them all. We aspire to bring people and dogs together. Together, we create a family.
This quarter we are collecting items for MisPits & Friends to support the needs of the dogs while they wait for their fur-ever home. You can drop donations at the office or I can arrange a time to come pick them up!

Hammer's Lou Adopts
The Kentucky Humane Society with Louisville Metro Animal Services is hosting our second annual Hammer’s Lou Adopts, a mega adoption event aiming to find loving homes for nearly 200 adoptable local dogs and puppies. Once again sponsored by Isaacs & Isaacs Personal Injury Lawyers, Hammer’s Lou Adopts will offer on-site adoptions at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center Pavilion on Saturday, May 11 from noon – 4:00 p.m. After finding homes for 115 dogs at last year’s event, the group has their eyes set on even higher numbers this year!
KHS and LMAS will be joined at Hammer’s Lou Adopts by several other local shelters like MisPits & Friends!) to offer the public a large variety of friendly, loving local dogs and puppies who are available for adoption on-site.
Adoption fees will vary by shelter. Jefferson County adopters will be required to pay a $10.50 licensing fee for each adoption. All the dogs and puppies will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Adopters are encouraged to bring their resident dogs so they can meet any potential dog siblings and to bring their dogs’ vaccine records.
No financial products will be sold.

What's the Plan?
As you navigate the final stages of life, decisions need to be made:
• Who will make decisions for you if are unable to voice your opinion?
• What happens when you lose a spouse?
• When is the time to plan?
• Where does all your ‘stuff’ go?
• How do you want to receive care, should you need it?
Why do we need to prepare? Because the ‘Default” plan may not be the best plan!
If you struggle to answer any of the above questions, join us for an evening of education. Hear from a funeral director, home care providers, independent/assistant living navigator, estate attorney, and financial planner.
