I'm currently celebrating my 24th year with Thrivent. I've been married to Donna for 37 years and we have two children; our son Chad is married to Karen, and they have one son, Axel, and our daughter Chelsye is married to Maxwell, and they have two daughters, Audrey-Daye and Lillian.

Every April, Thrivent recognizes Volunteer Month with various employee activities, and this year they really hit it out of the ballpark with the Wine to Water Filter Build initiative. You may have seen our invitation to our annual Spring BBQ where we highlighted a 'water filter build' for this organization, or received an email from Thrivent offering a free water filter build kit to be sent to your home? When we received the first notification of this offer from our home office, we enthusiastically responded with a 'yes, we will participate!' - having NO IDEA what we were really signing up for. When the box arrived with our first (5) water filter kits, we were shocked at how small the kits and the shipping box were. So small! But after reading more about the organization on their website, www.winetowater.org, we were so excited to be a part of this project. We immediately ordered (5) more kits.
As you can see from our pictures, Thrivent members LOVE to do things - and in this case, they loved the water filter build project. So simple, yet so very effective. The water filters were assembled, repackaged, and returned to Wine to Water in North Carolina for inspection and shipping to their end users in the various locations they serve, including Nepal, the Amazon, Tanzania, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. However, this is not all that Wine to Water achieves. They have several other projects serving these communities, including Water4Schools, Disaster Relief, Health Care facilities, and other training programs for communities.
