About Stephanie Roelfsema

I’ve been with Thrivent since August 2019 and am passionate about helping individuals and families work toward their financial goals with confidence and clarity. Through my work in individualized retirement income planning, education funding strategies, life and long‑term care insurance strategies, investment planning, and farm transition strategies, I partner closely with clients to create thoughtful, personalized financial plans built around what matters most to them.

I grew up on my family farm near Enderlin, North Dakota, where I developed a strong appreciation for hard work, stewardship, and long‑term planning. I believe meaningful financial strategies begin with strong relationships, and I take pride in getting to know my clients personally so their financial plans reflect their goals, values, and priorities. Before joining Thrivent, I worked at Valley City State University, most recently serving as Director for Residence Life. I hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (2007) and a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in teaching technology (2014), both from Valley City State University. In recognition of my leadership and community impact, I was named to Prairie Business magazine’s 2018 “40 Under 40 list, highlighting young professionals making significant contributions across the Northern Plains.

I’ve lived in Valley City since 2003 and am active in the community I proudly call home. I attend Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and enjoy connecting with others while attending school events and youth activities. My husband Kyle and I have two sons, Parker and Riley, a cat, Snowy, and Two dogs, Olive and Tripp. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering for my kids’ activities, cheering them on at hockey, baseball, and football games, and relaxing with my pets while reading a good book.
