About Seythe McCoy-Leffall

Seythe McCoy-Leffall is a Financial Associate at Thrivent and holds the Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) designation. Before pivoting into finance, he accumulated over 15 years of experience in project management, system administration, SaaS, and client service in the Railroad, Waste Management, and Public Safety sectors. While at Axon, Inc., a technology leader in global public safety, and throughout his career, McCoy-Leffall tackled diverse projects and implementations of large-scale CRM systems.


Seythe also has a passion for serving the community. In 2013, he served as Director of Social Media for the Global Language Network, a nonprofit organization. Over 2 years, Seythe engaged and promoted the benefit of language learning and human connection. He has also served on the board of the National Hampton Alumni Association, Incorporated (NHAA) - Prince George’s County Chapter since 2018 in various leadership roles including Corresponding Secretary, Vice President, and President. During his tenure, the chapter supported 5 family homes through their association with Christmas in April of Prince George’s County, a non-denominational volunteer organization that repairs the homes of senior citizens who are either low-income and/or physically challenged so they may live in warmth, safety, and independence; awarded over 35 book scholarships supporting incoming freshman and currently enrolled students attending Hampton University; donated over 100 toys to the St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth, and Families over a multi-year relationship, and received the NHAA, Inc. Chapter Merit Award in 2023. He currently serves as the regional 2nd Vice President of NHAA, Inc. - Mid Atlantic Region.


His service and efforts in humanitarian relief continue through his work as a volunteer with Team Rubicon USA, a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Operations completed include: Operation Mold Bay (Baltimore, MD), Hurricane Harvey (Crisis Line Agent, Houston, TX), and Operation Geaux Big (Baton Rouge, LA). As a volunteer, he earned additional certifications in Core Ops (Muck Outs, Debris Management, and Expedient Home Repair), Advon/Recon, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (A.S.I.S.T.). 


Most recently, during the summer of 2023, as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, he was honored to be accepted to serve as a mentor to rising 11th grade, 12th grade, and graduates with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s Anthony L. Cheatham Leadership Development Institute-South at Howard University.


Seythe McCoy-Leffall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Hampton University (2007); a Master of Science degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University (2009); a Professional Certificate in Fintech from the University of Hong Kong (2022); Certificate in Leadership from McKinsey & Company (2023); Certificate from the Associated Black Charities’ Board Pipeline Leadership Program (2021); and is currently pursuing his MBA at American University’s Kogod School of Business.
