About Ryan Eaves

My wife, Sara, and I met in 2008 at our church (at the time), Calvary Baptist Church, in Normal, IL and 'tied the knot' on September 22, 2012. We have been overwhelmed by the grace of God through our seven-year-old son, Oliver. We are honored we get to parent our adventurous, outdoor-loving, ‘100% Boy’, mud and puddle seeking bundle of joy! We also have two golden-doodles, Liza and Pearl, and one outdoor cat, Eeny.

I graduated from Heartland Community College with an Associates in Arts degree in May 2009. Shortly after my graduation, I traveled with a band full-time as a year-long missions’ trip with CTI Music Ministries out of Willmar, MN. We traveled from upstate New York to LA to Seattle, in addition to Toronto Canada area and Taipei, Taiwan. Though I had originally planned to further my education after this, God opened other doors and I began my career in the financial industry working as a part-time teller at Regions Bank. I worked my way to a full-time banker and eventual Branch Manager with Commerce Bank.

My family attends The Pasture and I also serve on staff as an Associate Family Pastor-Children, as part of the Family Ministry Leadership Team. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead The Pasture Kids ministry! When away from the office, I love spending time with my family, travelling, cheering on the IWU Titans, as well as serving on the worship team at our church playing the drums and bass guitar...typically not at the same time. :-)

There are many things that excite me about being a Financial Professional at Thrivent, but I am most excited that I get to help people alleviate, reduce or even eliminate some of the money stresses that they face by working together to create a strong financial strategy.

As Mark Twain says, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” This resonates so much with me because the opportunity to collaborate with Christians to help take the next step in their financial strategy doesn’t feel like work to me, it is a ministry.
