Our team

Nancy holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and has been with Thrivent since 1993. She specializes in charitable planning, wealth transfer, tax-efficient retirement planning, educated advice and life insurance needs. She also leads a diverse team of financial associates and support staff to provide personalized service in financial matters that are important to you. Nancy has two offices in Minnesota: Redwood Falls and Springfield. However, she is licensed to serve clients in many states across the U.S.

Nancy enjoys supporting several charities and causes such as: Dollars for Scholars, Kickin’ Cancer (Redwood County), Leave a Legacy SW MN, and many more. When she is not helping clients plan for their financial future, her favorite pastimes are golfing with her husband, Pat, along with other friends, and visiting their three grown children: one at a nearby university and two in Phoenix, Arizona. This gives them a great excuse to try out the golf courses in Arizona as well.

Nate has been a part of the Thrivent team for more than 18 years. As a financial professional, he specializes in tax-efficient retirement planning, life insurance needs, and helping clients start planning at an early age. Nate enjoys providing clients with holistic financial guidance, teaching them to be wise with their money and to live generous lives throughout their financial journey. Nate also has Medicare planning experience. 

Nate enjoys spending time with his wife, four kids and two grandchildren. He enjoys all things sports— from participating in adult leagues to watching his kids’ sporting activities. He’s been known to drive four hours each way in one day to watch his kids play sports. Nate is a dedicated father and worker, as well as an avid Midwest hunter and fisherman.

Pat is a Thrivent associate with the Redwood Financial Advisors. He is an alumnus of South Dakota State University. Pat’s greatest joy is seeing the team set and exceed the goals they have set. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, and their three children—their two oldest children live in Arizona and their youngest attends a nearby university.

Pat also volunteers regularly at St. John Lutheran church and school, along with promoting local golf tournaments to raise money in the community. He also enjoys participating in the tournaments. He loves to hunt, golf and hike.

Meagan is a financial associate with the Redwood Financial Advisors and has been with Thrivent since 2017. Although it feels like she is in the office with us every day, she works virtually “up north” from her home office in Brainerd, Minnesota. Meagan works alongside Nancy and Nate to assist in the planning process for our clients. She is also the team lead for our amazing office staff. Meagan truly enjoys coming alongside our clients and team by supporting them in many ways. She is licensed in Minnesota and Texas.

When not serving our clients, Meagan enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their two children. During the cold winter months, you will most likely find them on a snowmobile. Matt also collects and fixes vintage sleds. The fall consists of hunting, and it is now a full family event as the youngest had his first trip out to the deer stand in 2021. During the beautiful summer months, they enjoy camping, hunting, fishing and being on the water. Visiting the family cabin on Rainy Lake is usually the highlight of the summer.

Jake Hansen recently joined the Redwood Financial Advisors as an Associate Representative. Jake comes to us with experience in marketing, sales and customer support. He is new to the financial industry and eager to learn how to further support our clients.

Jake is a Minnesota native, since he grew up in Redwood Falls. Like others, he works remotely and is based in Mesa, Arizona. Jake adds support to Nancy and Nate in our team effort to service our clients.

Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Danitza, as they explore the Arizona mountain range. If he is not hiking, you may find Jake playing men’s league hockey at the local rink or on walks with their dog, Nala. Yes, you heard that correctly, there is hockey in the desert.

Kelly is an insurance associate with the Redwood Financial Advisors and has 14 years of experience. She enjoys assisting clients with understanding their investments through periodic client reviews and by helping them achieve their investment goals. Throughout her years of experience, she provides exceptional and friendly service to clients. Kelly also has Medicare planning experience. 

When not at the office, Kelly spends her time with her husband, Rick, and their children and grandchildren. They enjoy time at their cabin, trail riding on their side by side and watching wildlife. She serves as a local first responder, Community Club secretary, Springfield Area Food Shelf volunteer and Sanborn City Council member.

Amber joined the Thrivent team in 2021 and is an Insurance Associate for our team. She is learning the financial services industry after retiring her photography business of 14 years. She was hired to help build the special needs planning area of our team. While the financial world is new to Amber, planning and caring for a child with special needs is personally familiar. Being relatable and compassionate to other families who have similar needs makes her a great fit for this team. Her expertise may be understanding special needs concerns, but Amber is also helping assist the entire team with many important administrative projects and responsibilities. Amber is health and life licensed in MN.

Amber works remotely from her home office in St. Michael, Minnesota. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games and cuddling on the couch watching movies with her husband and two kiddos. This is where you will find her in the winter—Minnesota cold is not her thing. However, in the summer, one of her favorite spots is on a lake, where she spends many days soaking up the warm sunshine and swimming and boating with her family and friends. Photography is also still a passion of hers, but she enjoys it as a hobby now.

Jed recently joined the Redwood Financial Advisors as an Insurance Associate. Jed comes to us with experience in customer service and sales. He is new to the financial industry and eager to learn how to further support our clients.

Jed is originally from Redwood Falls and goes to school at Minnesota State University Mankato. At MSU he is a finance major and he also runs track and field.

Jed enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Jenna. Together they like to travel and try new restaurants. He also enjoys watching and playing multiple sports. If he is around you might find him at the golf course or in the weight room training for track and field.

Veronica has been an office professional with the Redwood Financial Advisors since 2017. She loves to assist the team with behind-the-scenes work and she handles many of the tasks that keep the financial team running smoothly for those who are in front of our clients. It truly is a team effort. Veronica has a special niche in which she works closely with the families of clients who have passed away. She strives to make this very difficult time for them go as smoothly as possible. We serve a variety of people, many who are multi-generational families, and it’s been such a joy for Veronica to meet and make connections with each of them.

Outside of her work at Thrivent, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family. She loves various outdoor activities, especially in the warmer weather. Veronica and her husband, Steven, have a passion for traveling. They make frequent trips to visit their two young adult children (and one grand-pup) who are both away at college, and they enjoy occasional trips to warm weather destinations when possible.

Jenna is originally from Morton and goes to school at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN and graduated this spring. She comes to our team with a business administration degree with an emphasis in PR/Marketing promotion and marketing management. She immediately got to work for our team and is licensed in Life and Health Insurance. Jenna is working on her Medicare training as well.

Jenna enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dogs, and her boyfriend, Jed. She also enjoys traveling and crafting in her free time. 

Earlier this spring we had the privilege to bring Kayla Houselog onto our team. Kayla will be working remotely from home in Pipestone MN. Kayla dove in headfirst and immediately started learning all the systems, assisting with applications and scheduling appointments for the team. Kayla worked super hard and is now our newest Insurance Associate. Before taking on this new adventure she worked as a cosmetologist for 15 years. She also worked part time as an office assistant with a tax office for the last 4 years.

Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband Brandon, their three young girls, who are in a variety of activities, and their three dogs. She has a love of the outdoors and animals, but her favorites would be spending time in her garden or at the lake. Cosmetology is still a passion of hers and still gets to enjoy it on occasion.

Laura joined our team April of 2023 and is the friendly face you are greeted with when you come into the Redwood office. Laura has a background in office management and is excited to be on our team as a full-time office professional.

When not at work Laura likes to spend time with her husband Dean, and two grown children James & Jenna. For fun, Laura enjoys going to sporting events with her family or mastering an escape room.
