



Philip Hanna is a Market Developer at Thrivent, a role he has held since November 2018, after beginning his career with the organization as a Financial Professional. With more than 23 years of experience in the financial services industry, he brings deep expertise in advisor development and client-focused strategies.
Philip holds active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations, along with Life & Health licenses, and is licensed in over 37 states. In his current role, he focuses on recruiting, developing, and launching new financial advisors, driven by a strong passion for helping them serve clients effectively.
Prior to joining Thrivent, Philip served as an Investment Officer in the Fixed Income division of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, the third-largest public pension plan in the United States, with over $260 billion in assets (as of March 2021). In this role, he managed between $25 billion and $35 billion in short-term investments for both the Retirement Fund and the State of New York Short-Term Investment Pool. He also oversaw the Fund’s securities lending program.
Earlier in his career, Philip spent 12 years at JPMorgan Chase, where he held multiple roles and developed a strong foundation in financial services and investment management.
