My Thrivent Story
I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan from Jakarta, Indonesia when my husband pursued his studies. In my culture, children are expected to support their parents in retirement—my mother depends on her children, and I had no background in retirement planning or investing
As my children grew, I realized I didn’t want to rely on them the same way as our parents do. That moment pushed me to learn about financial planning and retirement.
Now, I’m passionate about helping others—especially women or immigrants—who may feel unprepared or unsure about their financial future. I joined Thrivent because I believe in its mission as a not-for-profit that gives back to the community.
