About Nolan Hovland
I guide clients with their retirement planning and tax-efficiency/wealth-transfer strategies. In general, I partner with them toward achieving their goals. Or, in the words of my daughter, I “help people be smart with their money.”
I was born the third of seven siblings and grew up on our family farm in northern Iowa (Winnebago County). I’m thankful to my parents for providing a godly example of what hard work, sacrifice, and the importance of family look like.
I earned my B.A. in History, Teaching, at the University of Northern Iowa, where I also met my wife, Bethany.
After five years of teaching and coaching near the Quad Cities we had our first child and moved back to the Cedar Falls area to be closer to family. I continued to teach and coach at Janesville, and Bethany was hired as the Springboard Diving Coach at UNI.
When I began looking at options outside of teaching high school social studies after ten years in the career, I found that as a financial advisor at Thrivent I could still use my love of teaching and coaching.
As an advisor, I provide personalized financial advice to help people use their money as a tool to achieve the goals that really matter to them.
