A little about me:

My wife, son, and I live in Pleasant Hill, CA, and am a Southern California native. I love outdoor activities including hiking, camping, and backpacking. My love of the outdoors drew me to my first career in the environmental consulting field where I performed due diligence, conducted various kinds of sampling, and wrote technical reports. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2014, and fell in love with the Bay Area. I loved my first career.

However, in 2021, I was called in a different direction, and chose to pivot to financial planning. I went back to Saint Mary’s where I earned a Master’s of Science in Finance. I completed coursework in economics, accounting, quantitative analysis, and financial statement analysis. I also completed coursework in equity and fixed income analysis. I joined a team which represented my school in the 2022 Chartered Financial Analyst competition. We prepared a lengthy report on a company and prepared a 20‑minute presentation and defended our analysis in front of a panel of experienced analysts. Truly, my graduate studies opened my eyes to possibilities presented by this new career path.

I came to Thrivent in 2025 after having worked for another team for several years. I am grateful to have encountered Thrivent, and I am thrilled to operate my practice. I chose financial planning because I love helping people and enjoy studying numbers; building a financial plan really is part art and part science. In that sense, my prior experience in a scientific field is foundational to what I do now, and I am thrilled to work for an organization that shares my values of generosity and hard work.
