About Joe Mulpas

We’ve all heard the saying…The only constant in life is change…, right? Are you financially prepared for the next change in your life?

I spent the first twenty-five years of my career climbing to the top of the corporate ladder as a former partner in a big-four accounting firm and a former chief accounting officer for a Fortune 500 company. God has blessed me and my family in many ways and am I’m extremely grateful. However, I’ve also experienced first-hand the impact that unexpected change can have on people’s lives. Imagine relocating your family several states away and then within a matter of weeks being told you no longer had a job….that was me in 2012. Imagine telling several dozen employees they were losing their job as part of a corporate cost cutting initiative....that was me in 2018. Those experiences taught me a lot of lessons, but one lesson was that each one of us can be better prepared financially for the unexpected. Your story may be different, but most likely you’ve also had your own unexpected change in your life – maybe it’s the loss of a loved one, maybe it’s the loss of a job, or an unexpected health issue. Simply put, I became a financial advisor so that I could help people be better prepared financially for the unexpected and reach their financial goals.

After being a client of Thrivent and learning about the common bond of Christianity that exists between Thrivent and its clients, the Christian values of the Company, and the emphasis on living generously by giving of both your time and resources, I was convinced it was the right place for me to begin my career as a financial advisor. I’ve seen first-hand the tools and resources available at Thrivent to help people achieve success in all aspects of their finances and combined with my experiences and Christian values I would like to help you reach your financial goals.

I live in Upper Arlington, Ohio with my wife Tami and our two boys, Jeremiah (16) and Brandon (11). We enjoy camping, hiking and time with family.
