What's your motivation to stay on top of your finances? The easy answer to this for me...is Jennifer. Jen steers the household in our day-to-day finances (I'm in charge of the long-term stuff), and she runs a pretty tight ship! Bigger picture, the biggest driver for us is financial clarity. We've seen scarcity & abundance and just about all the stages in between. Having a plan has always allowed us to stay on top of our spending and avoid many of the big stressors (aka - Jeff buying stuff that we don't need). #FinancialLiteracyMonth See thrivent.com/social for important information

It's Teach Your Children To Save Day! As part of #FinancialLiteracyMonth, I wanted to share what I have tried to teach my girls over the years. The biggest tip I have tried passing on to both girls once they started working is to have your paychecks go into a savings account and then move money to your checking as needed. It’s a great passive way to grow a savings account, and it forces them to think about what they are spending on since they have to physically move the money from savings to checking. What are some things you have tried to teach your children about saving? Comment below!

April is Financial Literacy Month! As I look at these pictures from when Jen and I were first starting out, I can't help but think about the things I wish we would have known as a young couple. The one thing I would go back and tell myself??? Understand the power of compounding interest! The first three jobs I had out of school did not offer 401k savings of any kind... and we did not set up our own Roth IRA retirement accounts until well into our 30's. Even as we were scraping by, we could have made our future plan look even better by starting monthly contributions into Roth IRA accounts. I would also tell my past self that brown Cavaricci's did not pair with black & white high top basketball shoes 🤣 If you are a young couple or family just starting out on your journey, let's connect today and help you make a plan to reach your goals. https://connect.thrivent.com/jeff-losh
