About Ingrid Schimnoski

Ingrid Schimnoski is a financial advisor with Skyline Financial Group whose work is shaped by empathy, service and a desire to make financial planning feel more approachable. She believes one of the most meaningful parts of her role is helping clients carry the weight of the details — from planning to paperwork — so they can feel more organized, supported and confident about the future. Ingrid brings a practical, compassionate style to her work, helping clients create plans they can understand, revisit and adjust over time.

Before entering financial services, Ingrid built a rich and varied career that included work as a professional violinist. She earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Illinois and continues to bring the discipline, creativity and perspective of a lifelong musician into her work with clients. Her background gives her a special connection to musicians, artists and independent professionals who may not have access to traditional corporate benefits and need retirement planning that reflects the realities of a self-directed career.

My Why

Ingrid’s path into financial services is both personal and deeply connected to the life she has lived. Her parents were longtime Thrivent clients who began investing later in life and saw firsthand the value of having a plan in place, which helped shape Ingrid’s view of what thoughtful financial guidance can do for a family. At the same time, her life as a musician gave her an equally important perspective: many talented, hardworking people in creative fields are never taught how to build long-term financial security on their own. That realization became a driving force in her work. Today, Ingrid is especially passionate about helping musicians, creatives and independent professionals translate discipline and talent into a meaningful financial future.

Who is Ingrid personally?

Born and raised in Oak Park and now living in nearby Forest Park, Ingrid is deeply connected to her community. She is active in Rotary and the Oak Park Chamber of Commerce and has supported a range of local outreach efforts focused on hunger relief, women’s support, animal welfare and other charitable causes. Outside of work, Ingrid enjoys life with her twin daughters — one a student and one serving in the Air Force — and continues to perform in multiple musical groups, including Maggie’s Farm, Straw Daddy, and the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest.
