Thrivent Choice®: Direct Your Choice Dollars® & Support Your Favorite Causes

-
Your Community

Thrivent Choice®️ is a member benefit that gives clients with membership a voice in Thrivent’s charitable giving. Through the program, eligible members can recommend which enrolled churches and nonprofits receive a portion of Thrivent’s charitable grant funding.

How members can participate

There are three simple ways to get involved: Direct, Donate, and Recommend.

1) Direct Choice Dollars®️

If you have Choice Dollars available, you can direct them to one or more enrolled organizations you care about. Choice Dollars are not withdrawn from your personal accounts—they represent a way for eligible members to recommend how Thrivent distributes a portion of its charitable funds.

2) Donate (optional)

Anyone can make a personal donation through Thrivent’s online giving options to enrolled organizations in the catalog. (If you’d like help finding the right place to donate online, we can point you to the correct Thrivent resources.)

3) Recommend an organization

If your church or favorite nonprofit isn’t currently enrolled, members can help nominate/recommend organizations for inclusion in the Thrivent Choice®️ catalog

Where to go

Visit thrivent.com/thriventchoice to view details and access Thrivent Choice®️ online.

You can also look up enrolled organizations in the Thrivent Choice®️ catalog (which includes tens of thousands of eligible organizations).

Important notes

Thrivent Choice®️ is a fraternal activity. While members recommend organizations to receive funding, Thrivent maintains final authority over all charitable distributions.

Directing Choice Dollars®️ is subject to the program’s Terms & Conditions available at thrivent.com/thriventchoice

Thrivent Action Teams (2026)

-
Your Community

Thrivent Action Teams is a membership benefit designed to help you bring people together to serve a cause you care about through a short-term volunteer project.

Thrivent Action Teams are client-led teams that come together as needed to conduct a hands-on service activity, a fundraiser, or an educational event (social gatherings without a service/fundraiser/education component are not eligible).

Once your project is approved, you’ll receive a Thrivent Action Team kit of resources plus a Community Impact Card loaded with up to $250 in seed money to help kick-start your project. This seed money is intended to get the project started—not to cover all costs—and any unused funds can be re-allocated to help fund other Action Teams.

How it works (simple steps):

1) Start with an idea: Who—or what—do you want to help?

2) Apply for your project online at thrivent.com/actionteam.

3) Lead your team: Gather friends, family, and community members to volunteer with you and bring your project to life.

4) Use the Community Impact Card appropriately to support your project (per program guidelines).

5) Share your story: After your project, share photos and results to inspire others through the Thrivent Action Teams Hub.

Program guidelines (high level):

• Involve other volunteers: It’s about gathering a team to act on the cause you care about.

• One team, one project: Action Teams are meant to kickstart a generosity project and shouldn’t be combined with other clients’ projects to fund a single large project.

• Impact your community: Projects should not be self-benefiting for you or your immediate family and should not benefit an individual in your household.

Examples of projects that may qualify include: preparing and serving a meal for individuals in need, holding a fundraiser for a local food pantry, collecting items (coats/gloves) to distribute through a nonprofit, hosting an educational event, or organizing a service activity.

Learn more and apply: thrivent.com/actionteam

(And after you lead a project, you can share your impact with others on the Thrivent Action Teams Hub.)

Membership benefits are not guaranteed contractual benefits. The interpretation and availability of membership benefits is at the sole discretion of Thrivent, and benefits may change, be modified, discontinued, or refused at any time.
