Greg’s Story

In 2003, I became a financial professional so that I could guide families to be the best stewards of all that God has entrusted and blessed them. My Thrivent journey began in a financial planning practice for the first 4 years of my financial services career. For the next 9 years I was called upon to serve as the field manager for Thrivent for the State of Georgia. During this time, I earned advanced designations as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Certified Kingdom Advisor®, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and Fraternal Insurance Counselor. In 2017, I decided to launch my own financial planning practice in Marietta, Georgia. In 2022, I partnered with Katherine Gross to create the Avonlea Financial Group that we know today.

Paying It Forward

I give back through service with my local congregation and Scouts BSA - Atlanta Area Council as a Unit Commissioner and Merit Badge Counselor for Personal Management, Music & Bugling. I also have the opportunity to lead sessions at the University of Scouting and recruit adult leaders for several Merit Badge Summits offered by the Atlanta Area Council. This included a recent visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to facilitate the Personal Management Merit Badge to 125 Scouts.
