About Derick Ritenour

Originally from Texas, I’ve called Minnesota home for nearly 12 years. I live in St. Mary’s Point along the St. Croix River with my wonderful wife and two young daughters, and we are actively involved in the local community. I love the unique blend of small-town warmth and outdoor adventure in the St. Croix Valley region—from kayaking near Stillwater up and down the river, to fishing in Lakeland after launching from one of the many beautiful marinas, hiking trails around Hudson (Willow River State Park), or simply relaxing at a beach down the road from our home in Lake St. Croix Beach. I’m also a fan of both Dallas and Twin Cities sports teams, and while I once played college soccer, these days I focus more on supporting my daughters’ activities.

Giving Back

Serving others is at the heart of everything I do—both in my work as a financial professional and in my personal life. I’m an active member of the Lower St. Croix Valley Yellow Ribbon Alliance, where I help support local veterans and their families in times of need. I’m also deeply committed to the safety and well-being of our first responders, working closely with and supporting both the St. Paul and Minneapolis Fire Foundations. These organizations raise critical funds for life-saving equipment—everything from saunas to aid firefighter detoxification after exposure to harmful chemicals, to bulletproof vests and extraction tools that help protect and empower those who protect us.

Education and youth development are also important to me. I regularly support Stillwater teachers by helping purchase classroom supplies and supporting events like the Afton-Lakeland Elementary School Carnival. I’m also proud to back local youth hockey, including sponsorship of the St. Mary’s Point Ice Arena’s Stan & Karen Hubbard Classic Tournament and contributing supplies for concessions to keep this beloved tradition going strong.

Giving back is more than a commitment—it’s a calling. I’m always looking for new ways to support meaningful causes and help meet the needs of individuals and organizations throughout the communities I serve, from Oakdale to Stillwater, Afton to Hudson, and beyond.
