I spent last week with my grandson to help with a childcare gap. I love being able to spend time with him. There’s nothing quite like watching a kid do their day. We built a fort/tractor, with lots of conversations about forts and tractors and how they are different.
That box has been in heavy creative rotation since June and finally hit the recycle after its last day as a tractor. Notice the car seat; he’s outgrown it, but it still makes a great tractor seat.
Planning for the future can have a lot of similarities. Goals are important; where are you headed? How do you want to get there? As life unfolds, goals and resources may shift and change. Some things may be repurposed, and others replaced. Using the right tool for your goals is vital as well, whether you're building a tractor or a solid future.

During Thrivent's National Women's Advisor Conference last week, I had the opportunity to listen to (and meet!) Olympic Cross-Country Skiing Gold Medalist Jessie Diggins. She reminded us all that mindset, grit, and momentum are a huge part of what it takes to reach your goals; at the same time, taking care of yourself is crucial to reaching those goals too!
The culture of encouragement and mutual support at the conference is exactly the type of thing that helps keep those goals in reach.
