About Darren Norton
I’m proud to be a Thrivent financial professional. At Thrivent, we view money not as a goal, but as a tool – a principle that I learned early in my career. I worked in the music industry for 35 years, spending time with record labels and music manufacturing, riding the vinyl wave all the way until cd’s started to fade out of existence.
During my time in music, I learned a few things that I carry with me in the planning process. Artists burned through money until they had nothing, record labels would have a single hit and then spend it all as well. Everyone always thought that the hits would keep on coming, but that wasn’t always the case. In our work together, we will plan for if the bad days come even when we’re in the good ones.
Effective financial planning is something that everyone needs and deserves. I have a passion for helping the people around me find stability and clarity with their finances. I also want to use what I have learned from the music industry and my own mistakes in the past to help those younger than me avoid the same ones.
When I am not working with my clients I enjoy a good Bible study full of rousing debate, trying new Bourbons, riding my horses, spending time with my family and grandson, and volunteering in church ministries.
