Erica has been with Thrivent since 2013 and is our team’s lead financial advisor. She knew at a very young age that she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and make a positive impact on people’s lives through her work.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Erica develops comprehensive, personalized, dedicated financial plans for our clients that are tailored to their unique goals. Her advanced designations allow her to take a holistic approach to financial planning. Whether it's creating a roadmap to retirement or focusing on tax-efficient strategies, Erica is committed to helping our clients achieve financial clarity.

Outside of the office, Erica serves on the board of directors as the administrative coordinator for the Vacaville Christian Ministry Association (VCMA), an organization that is very close to her heart. She also enjoys traveling and one of her life goals is to visit every US National Park.

He has been married to Denise since 1986 and has two daughters, Erica and Charlotte. When he’s not in the office, Paul enjoys watching his favorite soccer team, Liverpool, and playing card games with his family.

Jake Woodbrey
Associate

Jake joined Thrivent in 2022, bringing extensive expertise in small business operations and personnel management. Over the past 20 years, he has cultivated his skills in various family-run enterprises, spanning from farming to franchises. At his peak he oversaw the operations and human resources of 16 locations and approximately 130 employees. He is enthusiastic about applying his small business acumen and systems background to our growing family-run business and to the future success of our clients.

He firmly believes that money is as much about heart and sense as it is about dollars and cents. His passion for not only understanding the nuts and bolts but also the emotions that lead us to making decisions are why he chose to get a degree in Psychology with dual emphases in industrial organizational psychology (business psychology) and entrepreneurship. Running a successful business and having a successful financial life have tremendous overlap and he’s captivated by the profound impact that effective financial planning can have on individuals’ lives.

Jake lives in North Idaho (or as he likes to call it, Upstate Idaho) with his wife, Sarah and their five children. Their shared feeling of responsibility as stewards and passion for volunteerism have only been magnified since joining Thrivent. 

He is also an avid enthusiast of cutting-edge technology and how it can help improve our team’s processes.

When he’s not working, you’ll often find him and the family exploring “hole in the wall” mom-and-pop restaurants, learning new things on Audible or Masterclass, and having memorable experiences ranging from u-pick fruit and farmer’s markets to cave exploration and theme parks.

Fun fact: Jake harvested bluegrass in the fields that are the neighborhood where he now lives.

She is committed to providing our clients with the best possible service and strives to exceed their expectations.

Serving as our team’s Director of Operations, Denise is the backbone of our team. She is responsible for overseeing client interactions, handling our internal processes, and ensuring that our team operates efficiently and effectively.

She has held a variety of positions, ranging from Records Clerk to Crime Scene Investigator to Identifications and Records Services Manager. She is a natural leader and excels at streamlining processes and training our newer team members. She is highly efficient, and her excellent follow-through ensures that tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.

Denise is also an incredible cook who loves to use fresh produce from her garden to create delicious meals for her family. She also has a heart for serving her community and always uses her personal Thrivent Action Teams to bless several of her favorite nonprofits each year!

With her extensive experience in employer benefit programs and leading Financial Peace University classes at her church, Heidi is truly passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals. Her meticulous approach ensures that our clients receive the most accurate and up-to-date information possible, allowing them to make informed financial decisions with confidence when they meet with our team’s financial advisors. Her organization skills and attention to detail ensure that our financial planning operations run seamlessly and proficiently.

Heidi enjoys volunteering at her home church, The Father’s House, where she serves on both the production team and in the foster care ministry. She values meaningful work and service, and her dedication to these values shines through in all that she does. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and watching martial arts movies.
