About Christopher Perkins

I love talking to people and I love piecing together their unique financial picture. I got into banking after college when my friend turned me onto the local Credit Union. I had just gotten a bunch of fees from a bigger bank and I determined never to let that happen again. I ended up spending the next nine years teaching others how to save money and manage their debt wisely as a banker/lender. That is, until my son was born. There's a shortage of childcare in Winona, so I made the decision to stay home with baby Aero the next three years, while my wife, Karen, continued her PA career at Winona Health. Instead of derailing my own career, it opened the door for me to serve my church as a lay-pastor, preach, volunteer at the Warming Center, deliver meals for the elderly and run food drives for Volunteer Services. The beauty of Thrivent is that I get to keep doing all of the above, and help my friends and neighbors do more of the same. Wise finances leads to generous living.
