When I retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years as a Petroleum Supply Specialist, my perspective on money changed. To a certain extent during my overseas deployments and rotations, I viewed every day as my last and spent my money accordingly. But then, as time went on and my family grew, I started thinking more about the future. I earned a bachelor's degree in financial planning, found Thrivent, and am proud to build a career at a company that aligns with my values.
As a husband and father of six, my values are simple – faith, family, and future. After spending so many years apart during my military service, we all just love being together, no matter what we’re doing. Whether it’s a Sunday with our Meridian Point Church community, at a sporting event for one of the kids, or just hanging at home with our pets, we always have a good time. Personally, my three favorite things to do outside of the office are hunting, fishing, and being on the golf course.
During my time with the Army, I saw firsthand how limited access to financial education can impact long-term outcomes. That experience, along with my own shift in perspective after retirement, led me to want to help others move from short-term thinking toward intentional planning for the future. I’m committed to helping my clients use today’s resources to support tomorrow’s priorities. The ideal future or retirement looks different for everyone – sometimes it means more time with family, traveling the world, confidence in retirement, or leaving a legacy. I look forward to hearing more about what you envision for yourself and helping you create a plan to get there.
