Scoops for a Cause – Ice Cream Social to benefit Foster Boutique & Bob’s Pantry
Please bring your family and donated items to Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church at 3580 N Benton Avenue in Helena on Tuesday, August 20th from 5:30pm to 7pm. Build an ice cream/sherbert sundae, enjoy some fellowship, and help vulnerable children in our community!
Promise686 Montana and the local Foster Boutique provide resources for at-risk children who are often placed into foster care during immediate/emergency situations and often without basic clothing, pajamas, diapers, a coat or shoes. That is where the volunteer run Foster Boutique comes in. They provide an opportunity to “shop” at no charge for needed items so children from newborns to teens can transition to a foster home with their immediate, tangible needs met.
Needed items - new 3T to adult sized pajamas and new children’s socks
Bob’s Pantry is located in Helena Middle School and provides a place for food insecure kids to get healthy snacks and food items they can easily prepare at home. The pantry also stocks personal care items for those in need. A high percentage of the school's students qualify for free school lunches and a number of students are homeless. Budget constraints have impacted the funding of Bob’s Pantry but not the ongoing need. Needed items - personal hygiene items and healthy, shelf stable, easy to prepare food items and snacks.
