Hall of Fame
In 1993, Melissa was recruited to the Lutheran Brotherhood by her husband’s best friend. She has loved helping clients create a better future for themselves ever since. “I’m rather addicted to seeing the joy on our clients’ faces when we share good news and provide solutions that ease their fears,” she shares. “I’m also thankful when I can walk alongside clients who have lost a loved one and shepherd them through difficult changes.” Melissa says the kindness of her first managing partner, Robert Beglau, helped her tremendously. A women’s study group with fellow advisors and her husband have also helped her thrive. “My husband is my greatest cheerleader,” she says. “I could not have made it in this career without him.”
When Melissa reflects on her work, she’s reminded of her first office professional and best friend, Pam, who developed early-onset dementia 10 years ago. “I served as her financial advisor and thankfully she listened to me long before she got sick,” Melissa says. Melissa thanks Hall of Famer Myron Jordahl, who was her business partner for more than 25 years, and Myron’s wife, Terrie, who was a valued team member, for their wonderful service prior to their retirement.
